Yeah, it certainly is hard to train at "normal" when it is >2x your daily salary.

Due to the offseason being the only time we can build upgrades I've bought 2 1m stadium upgrades which is an immediate +3600 seats and I can add to them.

Right now we have 350k and our daily salaries run at 35k a day. So I'm not gonna be able to give out any new contracts until the start of the new season because if everyone gets $1k a day we're doubling our daily salaries.

After the first homegame we'll renegotiate with everyone who needs it. Sorry guys but buying those two sections was an investment for the coming year so we can pay the higher and higher salaries you guys will need. I'd rather you guys trained at relaxed for 5 days during the offseason than we start having issues with paying people in a season or 2.

Looking back on the loss, I think it's hard to 'pin it' on anyone. Yes, a FG was missed, but so what? It happens, especially in season 1 of the game when, technically, everybody sucks (and at least on offense and defense, sucky players are playing against sucky players, so it kind of cancels out. Kickers have no such luck). A couple of fumbles were forced on it, but that's just crap luck, probably. Maybe the WRs could put a couple points into carrying, I dunno. Either way, we opened up our 10-0 lead in the air, so no real complaints with the passing game. R.B. Kazenzakis, my 'elite passrushing DE', got exactly 3 tackles and no hurries. Think Tank got two hurries but nothing came of them. Barkley and Maximoff both got interceptions at cornerback, but we also surrendered 250 yards in the air, which I think is a season high for us. All in all, we won by all playing well, and we lost because we all collectively came up short. It happens, and at least in 10 days it will be a new season and we can flex up (looks like I'll be dropping some cash to keep all 3 of my guys up there, but it's worth it) and take the league by storm.

Honestly, I'm kinda glad we didn't get moved up a league. We would've gotten murdered in the higher ranks.

Fair enough. Especially if the offseason is only 5 days long.

Edit: or is it 10?

Nord, here's a little something to keep in mind, in case you haven't seen this update already.

It'll be good to cut all excess depth before season 2 starts to avoid chemistry penalties. And also, depth has been proven to be completely useless according to word all over the boards, so we might have additional reason to cut away a few backups.

Hey! Can we go with a 2 tight end set then?

Well, Before you go cutting excess depth, you might want to read this thread. They've changed quite a bit with the stamina, energy and xp stuff.

That thread is from February 5th. More recent discussions indicate that the effect of stamina and energy is not anywhere near as impacting as people thought.

Edit: Look at this team's roster. They have a 3rd WR on offense. That's it. On D they have a nickel back and one backup LB. That's it. And they went 14-2 (17-2 including playoffs), with 8 shutouts in their last 10 games.

I'm not saying for us to take it to that extent, but at least we can do away with all CPU players and any players not from this site.

Who owns Tom Brady Jr.? I sent you a message in-game. Hit me up ASAP.

Damn... I wish I had known you guys also played this game... I have not been to this forum in a long time.

Maybe you can offer my owners something for my great players:

http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=29233 Lord Brady lvl 10 QB

http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=29242 ghost kick lvl 8 K

http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=172574 Stan D'Bach OT

Wow we could use the QB and the Kicker. But I'm not the owner so it's his call. Maybe you could make your stats public so Fjord can decide whether to hire you? Based on stats alone, those two toons could really upgrade our team. And we'll need if we're moving up to the next level next season.

They finished as league champs at 18-2, with 3 backups total.

done...

I have 2 different owners.. and both are cool and worked with my players. But, their release may not be in their plans...

Anyone know the dates for the next season to start?

One thing to mention is that this sounds like a balance problem for the game and it could very well be corrected or changed. A strategy that worked in Season 1 will not necessarily work in season 2 or 3. Of course, if it changes remains to be seen.

However, if we do go down the road of cutting back-ups to win, I would love to see another Patsfans based team so those backups have a soft landing.

Of course, I have a vested interest here, since I'm the 2nd string tight end, but part of the fun of the game is that it's people from these forums.

It's still up in the air... I would suspect 4-6 days so the can get the teams expansion done... 750 new teams is what I heard. Bort had said there is a grace period to after week 2 of season 2 for trades and drops w/ this new chemistry thing, so rosters will need to be set by then.

The new Energy changes are gonna curb teams like these:

We are planning on making some adjustments to energy and game XP for Season 2, as discussed in this thread (among a couple others):

http://goallineblitz.com/game/forum_thread.pl?thread_id=79240&page=1

The main changes will be:

- You will be able to lose up to 40 energy from your energy from one game, instead of 30, if you play a ton of plays and don't have the stamina to keep up. This means you will need to re-think your interpretation of the energy bar. It is meant to be an approximation of your player being worn down over the course of the whole season, rather than a measure of day-to-day rest. You're not going to be able to play 120 plays on hard every week and keep your bar at 100.

- The effect of low in-game energy on your performance will be slightly higher than it is now. This effect will be worked in a little slower, so we can watch the results and dial it in to the right amount, and to give you a little time to adjust.

- XP will be reworked a little to give more XP for fewer plays, but the maximum play cutoff will be lower. You'll still be able to get around the same amount of XP, but you will only need to play 40-50 plays to get it instead of 90. This means backups can get some more XP without "stealing" from your starters too much.

- Energy bars for all players will be reset to 100 at the start of season 2, along with morale bars.

- We will reset team chemistry for all teams to 70/70/70 after week 2 of season 2 has concluded (4 days into the season), to allow you a little time to make the moves you'll need if you want to add depth to your team. Chemistry will not affect in-game performance until then, either.

This basically underscores the need to include some depth on your team.

The new Energy changes are gonna curb teams like these:
- You will be able to lose up to 40 energy from your energy from one game, instead of 30

Uh oh, looks like Pio is going to need some investment in stamina starting right now!

Looks like we may want to keep a few backups after all.
