Re: Latest on Moss from Clayton...
Tell me how this team is better now oh great one.. I will give you Samual , and that no one thought we would sign him.. What if we lose Moss , Stallworth, Gay ,Colvin, and replace them with Draft picks would you be happy then.. I dont think Tom Brady would think so..
1.) Let's try this again.....
THEY HAVEN'T LOST ANYONE PEOPLE DIDN'T EXPECT THEM TO AS OF NOW
There, I feel better. Maybe that will sink in one of these days.
2.) Stallworth, while being a home run threat, was being phased out of the offense for reasons I don't begin to fathom, although the story about him being an absolutely horrendous route runner would certainly have explained it. However, his loss won't leave me crying in my oatmeal. There are going to be receivers available.
3.) Gay, while being fine as a nickel, was nothing but a nickel corner for this team, and was often injured. I want him back, but if he moves on, I'm confident that the team will be able to put someone else in the nickel spot. It's the #1/#2 CB spot vacated by Samuel that's the problem.
4.) I've made it clear that I don't know what the hell the team was thinking when it cut Colvin. I've said that it looks awful in a vacuum, and put forth the 'pet' theory that they've lost their minds following the SB loss. However, I understand that Belioli are the best in the business at putting a team together, and they know their personnel far better than either you or I.
5.) Losing Moss would suck. It would require a hunt for a top flight receiver, or two lesser receivers to mitigate the damage. And, as in the case with Stallworth, there are going to be receivers available.
6.) I have no problem with replacing Stallworth and Gay with draft picks, although I don't think the team will waste a high slot on a receiver. Unlike you, I'm able to understand that a momentary setback ≠ complete disaster. That's why I wasn't crying in almost every game thread in the second half of the season.
