That's surely true, but it's still kind of meaningless.

I can't remember who it was, but I remember one prominent player talking about the idea of "bulletin board material" in the playoffs. It doesn't exist in the playoffs. Players are amped to the highest degree in a playoff game, and are as motivated as they can be.

Tedy Bruschi is not looking at a comment like "they're beatable" and saying, "Well, I'm REALLY going to give my all, now!"

Besides, nothing they said was disrespectful in any way. The guy who said "beatable" still implied that they'd have to play a near-perfect game to win, and the other comments are clearly just Jags players trying to build up confidence in their own team. There is nothing you can read in there disparaging the Patriots or their accomplishments.

Of course it means something. The Pats aren't going to get drawn into it leading up to the game because they're too smart. I guarantee you, though, that they read it, and they'll be talking on the field. These players are human, and when you make brash comments and disrespect them, they don't forget.

If you really thought that the Jags staying quiet would make the almighty BB overlook the Jags, you are badly mistaken. Jags have nothing to lose. They are not suppose to even sniff a win. So this is suppose to be their last game of the year, so go out talking cause they cant play as good as the Pats, right.

Why is this so hard to uderstand? WHY??? I don't get it. Nobody thinks BB is overlooking the Jags! Are you serious? BB?? The man is psychotic! Listen up! The Jags have everything to lose! They lose, they go home! Do you think they played all season to go in with a hope and a prayer? This is not the Giants game where they decided to play and see how they matched up, this is the playoffs.

It is monumentally stupid for them to keep running thier mouths. It is a FACT that they are overmatched, but anything can happen you're not the Dolphins. For them, particularly Spicer, to keep taking shots after it's been pointed out to him that you shouldn't poke a bear is ridiculous. I'm telling you, watch for him in the game. He will be made an example of and will be made a fool of time and time again.

Part of the reason the Pats and Colts are so successful is their maturity. They say and do all the right things. Look at the Chargers. Talent galore but they are children and will never win until they grow the hell up.

I hope your right if they try to make a fool out of Spicer than that means they will try to run the ball and that would not be smart. Pats are a passing team with the best QB in the league. Take the ball out of his hands is monumentally stupid.

Actually, maybe they're right. They obviously know what it takes to win in the playoffs, so maybe we should just bow to their experience. After all, they are 1-0 and we're 0-0.

Could you please know what you're talking about before you speak? Please? Look at a stat every once in a while instead of just spouting what ESPN tells you?

WTF? ???? Am I missing something here. Why. Again, Why would we take the ball out of Bradys hands? Did I read this right?

Yup, Brady's hurt, didn't you hear?

Actually, the last 1 playoff game(s) the two teams played, Jags are 1-0 and Pats are 0-1. So they are undefeated in that stretch and we are the clear underdogs. They have earned the right to trash talk.

Jaguars Say Patriots Are 'Beatable'
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) ? Prime-time game, national television, against the undefeated New England Patriots.

It's no surprise the Jacksonville Jaguars, the sometimes brash, always confident team from one of the league's smallest markets, a group that plays the no-respect, us-against-the-world card every chance it gets, would welcome the challenge.

They're not afraid to talk about it, either.

"We love it," defensive end Bobby McCray said Wednesday. "This is what we've been waiting for all year. It's a perfect situation, a perfect stage and we're going to see what we can do."

The Jaguars won their first playoff game in eight years last week, blowing an 18-point lead in the fourth quarter and then rallying for a 31-29 victory at Pittsburgh. The Jaguars were favored to win that game.

They're a huge underdog in this one.

For Jacksonville, though, that's exactly where it wants to be heading into Saturday night's AFC divisional playoff game at New England.

"We look forward to the challenge," cornerback Rashean Mathis said. "We respect them a lot, but you give nobody too much respect. If you give anybody too much respect, that means you're laying down to them. We're laying down to no one."

The Jaguars, under former hard-hitting linebacker and fifth-year coach Jack Del Rio, have been one of the league's most physical teams, relying on a strong running game, a stout defense and a wear-you-down mentality.

They also have developed a reputation for playing their best in big games. The problem, though, was they typically couldn't match that intensity against lesser opponents.

Del Rio seemingly got it fixed this season, and Jacksonville advanced to the playoffs for the second time in three years.

Now, after beating the Steelers, the Jags have nothing to lose against the Patriots.

Few people outside Jacksonville expect them to keep it close, let alone win.

Inside the locker room, though, the feeling is much different.

"They're beatable," guard Vince Manuwai said. "You've seen the other teams almost beat them. We just can't make the mistakes that other teams did."

A few lockers away, left tackle Khalif Barnes talked about relishing the chance to be part of history.

"It would be nice to be the team that eliminates them," Barnes said. "They're 0-0. They haven't won any games in the postseason yet. Anything that happened in the regular season is over. That really can't help or hurt anything right now."

The Jaguars expect to do even more talking on the field, unfazed by New England's record, quest to make history or that the Patriots have won two in a row against them.

"We feel like we can match up against anybody," said Mathis, sure to be lined up across from Randy Moss on every play.

"Whatever type of game you have on the offensive or defensive side of the ball, we feel we can match that."

The Jaguars point to teams that have played New England close in recent weeks -- Philadelphia, Baltimore and the New York Giants -- and believe they can be even better.

"The 16-0 is in the regular season," Mathis said. "We're 1-0 in the playoffs. They've yet to play a playoff game. ... What they've accomplished in the regular season is what they've accomplished in the regular season. The playoffs are a different monster and we all know that."

Maybe the Jaguars are being naive.

Or maybe their confidence could help them stay loose and avoid all the pitfalls that could come with playing on the road for a third straight week. Not to mention the ones that come with facing an unbeaten team that had as many players voted into the Pro Bowl this season (eight) as Jacksonville had in the last eight years.

Some of the Jaguars even made light of their upcoming "mismatch."

"We're just blessed to have another opportunity, to be on the same field as the New England Patriots," running back Maurice Jones-Drew said in a slow, drawn-out, tongue-in-cheek fashion. "Tom Brady is my idol. He's from the Bay Area, dates supermodels. He's everything a kid wants to be."

Defensive end Paul Spicer even jokingly offered to let the Patriots borrow his digital camera if they wanted to take snapshots of Jacksonville's defensive signals.

"We are confident," Spicer said. "It's us against them. They're 16-0, they're wonderful, they're great. But the bottom line is they have to beat us Saturday. Until that happens, we're 1-0 and they're 0-0."

Saying the patriots are beatable makes them stupid. No one ever thought the jags would win it all this year. They have nothing to lose in this game. If they lose ok fine no one thought they would win anwyay , if they win they pull a huge upset.

The homers on this board are unreal. Why didnt you highlight any part of the article where the jags say they respected us.It makes out fan base as a whole look stupid when you act like a team is out of line for saying we are beatable. Way to ****y around here. Your a little scared thats why you guys scour articles and make something out of nothing. I suspect the jags should have said we are unbeatable and that they had no chance

What the Pats are not a passing team? They pass the ball 56% of the time. Which doesn't seem like a lot but when you consider the blow outs they had, thats when the bulk of the running plays came. After the game was over. So know your facts before you type please.

So as I said the only chance the Jags have is if the Pats are so arrogant that they want to run the ball at Spicer, it would only benefit the Jags.

"The Patriots are a great team, and we're gonna have to play our best game to beat them. They're strong in all phases of the game, but we're confident that if we play the way we are capable that we can stay with them."
That's all they need to say. That's all you'll ever hear from BB and Brady, and everyone else on the Pats. Why is it so hard for some people to understand.

Isn't their only playoff experience getting knocked out by the Pats? We knocked them out in 1996-97 and in 2005-06. Have they been in the playoffs any other time?

Notice the face w/ the rolling eyes, thus signifying sarcasm.

Give me a break. Several jags players sang our praises in that article. None of them said anything out of line. Saying we are beatable is not a big deal. We are beatable , no one is unbeatable.

The homers never cease to amaze me. The jags players said nothing wrong in this article.Just because Brady and the pats say things a certain way does not make there statments the golden standard. Please stop with the monster homerism. Brady and co have said a few things in the past that have raised a few eyebrows.

You are taking things to far.Scouring articles and taking harmeless comments and trying to claim they are disrespect is getting old.

Who really cares, the whole don't disrespect the Pats crap is just that, crap. What if the Jags don't say anything the Pats might just let them win?

I know right? I am a hard core pats fan and even I find this type of crap stupid. Dont get me wrong here , we are going to pound you.

BUT the yahoos on this board go to far. The jags players did not say a single comment that was out of line in that article.

Apparently every team is supposed to tell us how they have no shot to win or else they are disrespecting the pats!!!!!!!

Ok. Ok. You guys can win. Were sorry. Just went 16-0 for nothing I guess. Please let us win the next time though ok?

Sorry - almost spit out my coffee when I read that.

Did you watch the Giants game?

I think this joke is worse than Smith's guarantee winning. I can see somebody is going to get humiliate on the field like Smith did...
