Can not run the ball

Why not? Gilliam will make a difference. Campbell did well run blocking and he is healed up.
Can not stop the run
Remains to be seen because the starters have not played yet with the exception of scrimmages. Chardonett is out for Seattle opening day.
A lot of what Vrabes says should be interpreted as tongue and cheek. For one, I do not believe that he would announce to the NFL that the Pats are really that void of talent. Vrabes is too sharp a poker player to do that. Secondly his comments came across as a built in excuse if the injury bug hits. That is not how Vrabes rolls. I believe that Vrabes was sending a message to the players on the bubble that now is the time 5hit or draw small straws.
Superbowl hangovers
7-8 wins and no playoffs
4 wins should happen vs Miami and NJ. 5 wins including the Browns. Arizona is probably another win. Vegas will struggle. 7 wins is too low.

I made circle of 17 white stones , sprinkled chicken blood on them, placed 2 frogs facing opposite directions on the stones, and come out with 12 wins.
I do that every September 1st.

I over predicted many pundits last year. And that prediction turned up to be exactly or damn near exactly correct. This year I think they will out perform expectations again.

The injury bug will probably hit a bit more though sadly. But if they are healthy near the end they will do a deep run again. 13-4 and again they will make the final 4 after that healthiest team wins.

12-5. AFCE Champs. This team struggled out of the gate last season, but really came together and had a great season. I think we will see some real development of their young players, and while they don't appear to be deep right now, that will improve over the course of the season, and like many of Belichick's teams they will peak after Thanksgiving. Should be a really fun season.

Most of the Boston Globe reporters chimed in with 10 win predictions. I went with 11 but it's all academic if 10 wins are enough to make the playoffs. Making the playoffs and being healthy and strong, peaking in January should be the only priorities this season.

10 wins has been enough in recent seasons but one never knows - 11 should lock them in

Not that tough to do last year with so many lowball predictions - although Las Vegas had their over/under at 8.5 last year and 9.5 this year (which is about right with many here and among the pundits picking the over at 10 or more

I predict 10-7 or 11-6 and in the playoffs. Such a big turnover, I find the roster really weird, I think it’s better than 2025, but so different from last year. Not sure what to make of it. Receiver corps are improved, but TE is full of rookies or inexperienced backups to Henry. RB is solid with Stevenson and Henderson, Oline, still have questions, a lot of new guys, but starting line should be solid if they can stay healthy.

DLine, the interior is good, pass rushers and LBs could be a huge weakness. The secondary is one of the best in football.

I don't want this team to fall into the trap of trying to win the Super Bowl in September, October and November. The game's on Valentine's Day. That's when it's played, and only then will the title be won.

Here is really where I have the Pats schedule just to be clear. Assuming no big string of massive injuries. 13-4. They have IMO 4 really hard game this year. Sea, Bufx2, Den. People act like they are going to lose all 4 of these. Why? I think there is a good chance they split. And it is as likely they go 3-1 as 1-3. They are right there with these teams on paper. Maybe a hair better. They don't REALLY play any elite teams after these 4. They don't get Houston, LAR, Baltimore(if you think they come back) or Philly... which are teams that would worry me a lot more match up wise.

I think people are underestimating the difference between the top of the league and the rest this year. It kind of feels like many of the 2nd or 3rd tier teams are kind of underwhelming in some way.

What are you hoping someone bets you so you can say If I win I need to be vindicated from my last bet where I said we would win 7-8 games and not make the playoffs but I welshed on

Individual +++ surprises:

1. Eli Riordan has more catches and TD's than Hunter Henry
2. Ponder leads the team in sacks with 9
3. Trevyon Henderson has 50 or more catches this year
4. Vera Tucker surprises and plays well in 12 full games
5. Woodson and Williams makes all pro
6. Drake Maye has 35 touchdowns 15 interceptions
7. AJ brown over 1300 yards with 12 touchdowns

Disapppoinments

1. Neither Rham nor Henderson average more than 3.9ypc
2. Patriots RBs only have one game with RB gaining more than 100 rushing yards
3. Injury to Maye means Devito starts 4 games, Morton starts 1 and they lose all 5 games
4.Efton Chism and Kyle Williams both have mediocre years
5. Pats D gives up 100+ rushing yards to individual runners 6 times this season
6, They finish bottom half of the league i points scored

Patriots finish behind the jets in third place

Can not stop the run
5. Woodson and Williams makes all pro
If the Pats can’t stop the run, it’s going to wear down Williams who already couldn’t hold up for an entire season his first season as a full time player. If he could only muster 2 sacks playing on a 14-3 team, it’s going to be highly unlikely he takes his game to another level playing from behind and his team finishing 3rd behind the Jets. He’s been more effective as a pass rusher when he rotated as a reserve. The only way he sniffs an All Pro nod is if he gets around 10 sacks. There are way too many known names that will recognized before him.

Same for Woodson. Too many known names and Woodson would have to stand out in the stat column to even be considered.

I say 9-8 and a borderline playoff club. I think the starters not playing at all will bite them in the ass and they'll have a very slow start. They had a ton of things go right for them last year and the law of averages says they won't have the same good fortune. One thing's for sure, if they want any chance at making the tournament they absolutely need to go 5-1 in the division.

I think our Offense is going to be very good and should carry us early on. We invested heavily on it. Regarding our Defense: once we get past some key Starters things could get very interesting.

It's that time of the year again ladies and gentlemen.

Has Drake found his Moss?
Will the OL actually improve?
Can we stay healthy?
Is the "oh so tough" schedule just noise?
You get to lay it all out, right here, right now.

Last year, only @Brotherblues had the right poll vote as the 2025 Pats surprised everyone behind an MVP-caliber campaign from Drake Maye and a defense that lived up to and surpassed its potential. Do we know this team better now?

Make your call and let's see where the chips fall.

Poll is up until September 8.

I have week 1 as a win. Here me out... we were the second ranked offense in football. We added a bonafide number 1 and added a doubs. People are looking the allure of the Crowd and home field advantage Seattle had held primarily under the legion of boom. Seattle has no Kenneth walker and I believe they just lost Bud Clark at safety. This game is a get back game for the offense! In my opinion as a fan I like and want the Patriots to start the season in this spot . I want them tested right away. This game is a tone setter for the season.

From your lips to God's ears.

I hope it goes that way. If the Pats are able to win in Seattle, the bandwagon wheels might crack under the weight of everyone jumping on.

That's fine with me

the dude making this post predicted the Patriots would win 4 games.
When challenged on it, he voluntarily committed to never posting here again if the Patriots made the playoffs.
As you can see in addition to being ignorant about football he is also a welcher.

Prove me wrong: We have the best offense in the NFL
