They are good teams, and so are we.
We are better than Pitt and Jax, would be surprised if we lose to either. Certainly possible, but I expect wins.
Buff/Seattle could go either way.
Seattle has had some pretty significant losses in FA, I expect a win, but a loss is certainly possible.
Buff, wildcard. We are a better team 1-53, but division game, on the road and regardless of opinions here, Allen can be the difference.
I am honestly expecting 3-1, dropping 1 to Seattle or Buffalo.
2-2 at worst.

Look, I love the Pats. In 2002 Brady won his (First Passing Title): Led the NFL with 28 touchdown passes, though the Patriots missed the playoffs at 9-7. I believe in Maye but just a ridiculously tough schedule i.m.o. If Maye can read coverages better post snap and get into better audibles pre snap this season it will be a success to me. Learning other teams tendencies and finding the mismatch quickly would be awesome. Teams obviously will elimate AJ off the options list. It's what Drake does after that read is covered is the key.

Doubs was under-utilized in GB.
Every time I watched them play he seemed to always make big plays in key moments.
Boutte will continue to be a downfield threat.
Henry and Raridon will stretch the seams.
I think KW is ready for a jump, others may disagree,
Our running game should be improved if the Oline stays healthy and both are RBs are very good pass catchers.
I don't think the bracket coverage will work as well this year against us.
Remember coverage always works better when you pressure the QB, and our Oline was in shambles by the SB.
If our Oline can stay healthily, Maye will actually have time to read his progressions, something he really didn't have by years end last year.

Agree. And he still has not been signed elsewhere after being released in the spring. Hoping for his sake he will get picked up by some team in need of a veteran RB, if he still wants to play. Afraid he may not get a chance if he’s questionable because of the injury. He was good so it’s a shame if it ends like this.

He still might not be ready to pass a physical. Maybe we'll hear more about him as the pre-season schedule begins; but he'll likely be signed no earlier than after Week 1...

Remember the playoffs, the blizzard and played a backup qb and we couldn't muster up more the 10 points over Denver. He needs some guys like Brady counted on game after game.

Youre a Pats fan. You want them to win.
Those are the important things.
I do think you are a bit on the pessimistic side of where theyre at right now.
Yes, there are concerns: the biggest is edge, which could easily become less of a concern once/if Jacas is back for pads on, full contact.
The OL can easily become a strength this season but obviously hinges on several things: 1st and foremost is AVT being healthy for most of the season and especially postseason. 2nd year jump for Campbell is crucial.
There are other concerns but the Pars have fewer concerns overall thsn pretty much every team in the NFL except possibly the Rams.
Seattle lost key players and added no one.
I think Pats will be a better team team them by season's end.
Doesn't mean they'll win the opener, since its not only a road game cross-country but also Seagawks raising their SB banner.
Very few SB champions have ever lost that game. But I expect a very close game

Posters want to forget that 2002 ever happened. The Pats came out blazing to a 3-0 start with repeat being talked about by the media. Then they lost 4 straight. Nobody thought the Pats defense was going to fall off a cliff like they did. Their schedule also turned out to be more brutal than initially thought. 13 of their 16 games faced eventual playoff teams. Two were in the AFCCG. That's why they went 9-7 and missed the playoffs.

no one, repeat, no one, has any idea on Landry's medicals, except "this front office". fair to believe this front office believes he is back 100% healthy
unless more injuries happen, this front office most likely believes they are 4-5 deep already at the edge

In addition the front office may want to see how young guys Swinson and Hutchins look. Last practice Hutchins had a strong one on one rep and Swinson seems to be taking things more seriously this year (I know this means nothing, but you have to leave room for a project)..

From where we're sitting the position looks shaky now, but our concerns might not be their concerns, and they have more information.

If everyone were healthy it's not a bad group. I'd rather save the cap for now and see how the season develops.

I don’t think it’s a wait I think they aren’t interested in an aging overrated overpaid one trick pony. Clowney played one season for Vrabel and had a grand total of zero sacks and moved on to different one of the 6 teams he has played for in the last 7 years.
If no one ever wants him back that should tell you something.

I like Clowney, but I was not aware (nor did I fact check you) of his play under Vrabel in the past.
If there was a need, and the price was right, I would bring him in.
I simply do not believe the team see's the need at this point.

It's not that tough.
It's harder than last year, an historically bad schedule.

It's the 10th easiest schedule in the nfl by preseason metrics.

We won 3 of 4 playoff games.

Tom didn't win the passing title in 2002, he led the NFL in passing TD's... he also threw the most INT's of his entire career, had the third most fumbles of his career and had one of the worst completion percentages and QB Ratings of his career.

He was far from being the Tom we saw later. Charlie Weis was taking the training wheels off Tom at that point and was allowing him to let it fly because he wanted him to work through his mistakes.

The rest of the team wasn't good either, so the combination of these things was a bad situation... far more than schedule alone.
