It's easy, and only takes a few moments. My issue with Pierce is that he hasn't been a volume receiver with 47 being his most in a season. That's 40 odd catches they need from somewhere else. The problem is that rookie WRs rarely help, whereas a good tackle or a good DE help immediately.
Im not a fan of giving big money to Alec Pierce either.
Agreed.
I meant the draft bit of that tweet.I agree about the draft. I disagree about the Free Agency market for WR. There are far too many "OLD" guys like Evans, Patrick, and Cooks. In fact, there are 31 Free Agent WRs who are 30+ this season.
The WRs who are 29 and younger leave a lot to be desired. In fact, out of the ones who are 29 or younger, there isn't a single one who I believe brings half of what Diggs brought.
Just remember who the QBs were during his career. When they finally get a somewhat decent QB in Daniel Jones, Pierce had his first 1,000 yard season. And he also was not the #1 target, Pittman and the TE Warren were the guys who got 100+ targets. My issue with Pierce is that he hasn't been a volume receiver with 47 being his most in a season. That's 40 odd catches they need from somewhere else.
It’s a good point however after signing Milton Williams some were concerned that he wasn’t a starter in Philly how would he handle the workload of a starter. I’m guessing if Pierce is given the opportunity to have 70 to 80 catches he’ll be up for it, now with that said I wouldn’t pay him 30 million a year.My issue with Pierce is that he hasn't been a volume receiver with 47 being his most in a season. Same issue with me. The target rate of 50% is even worse. The 20 ypc is gaudy but Boutte has a 17ypc with a 70% target rate.My issue with Pierce is that he hasn't been a volume receiver with 47 being his most in a season. That's 40 odd catches they need from somewhere else.
With Maye I am confident that Pierce's target rate will go up (trying to be honest), but I agree with what I think your post is saying - that Pierce is a MEH signing.Same issue with me. The target rate of 50% is even worse. The 20 ypc is gaudy but Boutte has a 17ypc with a 70% target rate.
He just said in an interview that the team will have to throw him the ball more because he's earning the big money. He's not wrong, but it comes across as a bit entitled. The onus is on him to prove he's worthy of being thrown the ball more.Same issue with me. The target rate of 50% is even worse. The 20 ypc is gaudy but Boutte has a 17ypc with a 70% target rate.
I'd love him as a #2 receiver making Diggs money. With Maye I am confident that Pierce's target rate will go up (trying to be honest), but I agree with what I think your post is saying - that Pierce is a MEH signing.
I don't want to pay Pierce the Digg's money. Pierce has never been a #1. It would be an overpay. And I do not like losing draft picks for disgruntled AJ Brown. Use Diggs money on a EDGE and draft a WR in R1. Draft a TE in R2 or R3. Be creative, not a 1 for 1 replacement. Get younger, cheaper, and better. (I am Vrable posting in disguise but I didn't get kicked off X for starting a riot).I'd love him as a #2 receiver making Diggs money.
And speaking of paying #2 receivers, this is Boutte's 4th year.
Are they going to really blow up the locker room?
Wouldn't we rather just wait to see what we have in Boutte and Douglas? We still don't know.
Paying AJ Brown makes more sense to me if you can get him for peanuts in resources. At least there you can say to Boutte, look at AJ Brown, he's 30 and has had a heckuva career!
They actually do. Just not here. LolThe problem is that rookie WRs rarely help, whereas a good tackle or a good DE help immediately.

Depending on FA, it makes that first round pick more interesting. It will be either Pierce or Brown.
I’m not sure what and who I want just yet.
But if we could replace Diggs with Omar Cooper I would be thrilled.
The bottom 3 were different, but all the top ones were pieces of a puzzle. They actually do. Just not here. Lol

Again we have the problem of a 34 year old tackle.I don't want to pay Pierce the Digg's money. Pierce has never been a #1. It would be an overpay.
