It's easy, and only takes a few moments. It's been right around contract extension time.I heard somewhere that in both Minnesota and Buffalo he was a great teammate at first and then became a malcontent. So who knows if that will happen with the Pats. That is what happened with Randy Moss many years back.
But Diggs is older now. So maybe he is more mature. And he is at a different point in his career. He is now on the back nine of his career. Winning and being part of a team where everyone is fighting for one another may be more important to him at this point than personal glory and the next contract.
We're obviously not inside the locker room, but Diggs claims the Vikings weren't upfront with him about going to a run heavy offense. He didn't like it and lost trust in the organization, started skipping meetings and eventually told the Vikings he wanted out. The skipping meetings part is the only thing you could point to and say he should've just sucked it up for the season and asked for a trade after.
Stefon Diggs finally admits why he wanted out of Minnesota
Former Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Stefon Diggs says he was looking out for his own career during his efforts to get traded.thevikingage.com
Buffalo could've been the same thing. Their run game had been atrocious for years, but it looked like they finally got their guy in James Cook. He had almost 1,600 all purpose yards in his 2nd season. It's clear Diggs wanted out for a while because of their playoff failures. Even his brother tweeted during his last season that Stefon needed to leave. With all this going on, it made sense to trade him due to his age, salary and him clearly not wanting to be there.
Trevon Diggs goes at Buffalo Bills on social media
The Dallas Cowboys cornerback was frustrated on his brother's behalf, and also seemingly criticized Josh Allen.www.espn.com
Why the Bills moved Stefon Diggs, plus how the deal went down.
Unpacking the Stefon Diggs trade: Why Buffalo made the move and what Houston is getting.www.nytimes.com
Moss's situation was similar to Terry Glenn in 2001. Behind the scenes, he wasn't happy about his contract. After week 1 against the Bengals, he told Bill he wanted out. Moss was out of his mind wanting a new deal when he was 33 years old and he wasn't the same player. With that said, teams were still respecting him and you could see how much room Welker, Gronk and Hernadez were owning the short and intermediate parts of the field.
Patriots send Randy Moss to Vikings
The Patriots have traded wide receiver Randy Moss and a seventh-round draft pick in 2012 to the Vikings for Minnesota's third-round draft choice in 2011.www.espn.com
Randy was going to be a FA in 2011 and he was annoyed he hadn't been extended yet in 2010..I'll say with randy didn't he chose to stay here sign a 3 year extension in 2008? I remember him saying the eagles offered him more $$$
CMC's injuries don't qualify nearly as serious as an ACL tear though. They have to take into consideration what is one of the 2 most difficult injuries to return from in the NFL - achilles tear & ACL. (not counting the rare disasters like Alex Smith, Hamlin, blood clots, etc). CMC had achilles tendonitis & PCL strain - that's not like an ACL tear of a 31 year old WR on week 9 who returns fully week 1 to lead a new team as a WR1 the next year.
Oh - and Rivers shouldn't count. 4 games (likely all losses) to close out a year.
This isn't what I wanted to hear...It's been right around contract extension time.

BB typically doesn't extend WRs in thier 30s.. as we all knew..Randy was going to be a FA in 2011 and he was annoyed he hadn't been extended yet in 2010..

Yeah I've felt he's been on a pitch count all season. More exposure in the playoffs means more Prime Time. Missing out on the reception bonus, comeback player of the year and now with these recent allegations their won't be anything hold back Diggs in the post-season...I truly believe it will be near epic. He will take it to another level.Wonder if he sees a spike in targets during the playoffs. Seemed to be on a pitch count much of the year as he recovered but he’s shown he can take games over when needed.
