So... Pats still in the race for the #1 overall pick or nah?

I found it interesting during the game when they showed the side by side comparison of Dart and Maye. Dart is the total opposite of Maye and strikes me as a massive D-bag. That close up of him when he said "OMG" when their kicker was defeated by the earth. You have never remotely seen anything like that from Maye. Maye is the absolute complete package in what this team needed. You can teach players to improve their game but you cant teach them how to be a good leader or just a good dude. When the time comes they just need to hand him a blank check and tell him to fill in the numbers.

Broncos nearly choking against the Commanders has you on edge, huh?
Couldn't believe Marriota had them on the ropes.
Almost time to start giving the Donks fans ****.
Not sure I can handle a Pats playoff game here.
That D is legit but Nix will turn it over...

Free Willy TD's might be the most exciting TD's. You get the mix of speed from him and a beautiful pass from Maye.

Also I keep replaying that Boutte TD in my head. As soon as Maye released that ball, it was a simulation of the perfect throw. I think everyone, from announcers to fans did their best Kramer impression upon completion:

And wow, it's a beauty to see good coaching. It's awesome to see Lowe step in and hold his own. I imagine that dude had been waiting a long time to set the record straight. Might be the most clear example of how these players weren't given any help from their coaches last season.

Yeah with the reports of the torn labrum last year... maybe he's not as bad as we thought, plus he's got proper coaching now.
Absolutely agree steve.. it's just such a stark difference of how things went the last few seasons in contrast to this season.. they look sharp, focused, detailed, organized, hungry and motivated..

Lowe provided he continues to play well can sure himself a decent contract here backing up Campbell and he also can play on the right as well?

I never want to try to guess intent, because we don't know what's in a player's mind. But to me that should be a penalty. Reminds me of Stevan Ridley getting hit helmet to helmet in one of the Ravens playoff games we lost here. I think the year they beat SF in the Harbaugh Bowl.

But, I'm also Canadian so I'm a giant wuss unless it's wartime.

IMO, it wasn't targeting (Elliss isn't even looking at him) so no penalty, and helmet to helmet is almost never called after initial contact because what happens after that is completely unpredictable.

But as this is the NFL, I fully expect Elliss to be fined substantially.

Great points Tommy.. they went to OT against Mariota.. had Daniels played Washington likely wins..

I don't think he meant to hit him helmet to helmet, but I also think that shouldn't matter. I mean how many times does someone rough the kicker/punter and actually mean to do it?

I don't think we will ever fully know how bad it was, but I'm guessing that entire staff was lost from the jump.

During live broadcast it seemed to me he said WTF but I'm not a licensed lip reader

We need to get jomboy on this

Among all of the many blessings we’ve enjoyed as Pats fans in this millennium, let’s not forget the chance to watch the butt fumble, the Indy snap-without-blockers and the toe stub live. A parade of immortal fails.

Here it is:

When a runner is engaged with a tackler like this, it's even more dangerous because they just suck up the hit from the oncoming tackler. Not sure Elliss did anything wrong here.

The flip side of this is when Van Wroten got a dirty shot in on Carlton Davis early as Davis was wrapping up a Giants running back. You rarely see an intentional hit like that on a tackler.

The Patriots were livid when Van Wroten did that, and I'll just note that the next 3 players who took hard hits after that sequence were all Giants.

Don't poke the bear.

I get that. It's still a joke that a team leading the league with 11 wins hasn't clinched. I get all the scenarios, ect.. however it still asinine. And to your point they are division leader. Just my opinion..
Good Morning Football stated today that the Pats have such a comfortable lead in the AFC East that if the Pats lose to the Bills and Ravens they will still be leading the division.

Best part of butt fumble was PAts put up 35 points in 2nd quarter of that game, 21 point in less than a minute,83 yd pass to Vereen, butt fumble and returner fumbled ensuing kickoff into Edelman's hand returned for another TD.....

I still feel the Bills will be the toughest challenge left for us.. Josh Allen is still Josh Allen.. can we beat them again absolutely.. they are essentially playing every game as if it's a playoff game.. Lamar doesn't look right..I think he's playing hurt..

Miami is also creeping up and playing better as of late..

What happened on the Hunter Henry TD that was called back? The stadium replays didn't seem to show any weird shift and I think they called it on a lineman. I didn't think lineman could shift.
I spent the morning looking up the rule.
Once the Henry went in motion the lineman cannot go from a 2-point stance to a 3-point stance or vice versa unless all players reset for 1 second again. Both Guards actually did it after the motion started and unless the TE stopped and reset it is an illegal shift. Never seen that called before but that's the rule.

I think this is kind of where the NFL is in a nutshell. They want to find ways to minimize injury, but don't know how to do it within the rules so they'll do it through poorly explained fines, instead.

Maye throwing some dimes last night. Bob is bracing for the Brinks trunk to back up into Gillette soon.

Henderson has been nerfed because this team as whole is not a very good blocking team.

Who else was yelling for Rham to get out of bands after the long catch before the half? I don’t know why he ran right into the defender and had to drag him out to stop the clock. Ref could’ve called the opposite and kept the clock moving.

Boutte and Williams with some great catches.

I felt bad for Koo completely whiffing that kick.

Ellis and Mapu with the Brian Cox hits.

Patriots uniforms looked beautiful last night.

Giants away jerseys always reminded me of candy canes.

OL did a nice job blocking for Maye.

Carter shouldn’t have been gifted a sack. It was a clear designed QB draw.

My guess Pats don’t play much man is because QB’s run around too damn much. Every time I see a QB break the pocket I’m thinking “oh ****, here we go”.

Marcus Jones will make his 2nd All Pro for special teams.

It’s going to be loud at Gillette in 2 weeks when the Bills come to town.

Mike Vrabel is night and day to Jerod Mayo. The guy is into every play while Mayo loved walking around while doing nothing. Remember he wanted other coaches to do the work for him? LOL.
