First: There is only ONE team that gets AWARDed playoff berths. .... and we aint the Queefs.

Second: The formula hasnt changed in years (other than adding a 17th game and more NFC teams to the mix. )
But the formula remains essentially the same. CONF Win % is what counts for tie-breaker after head-head.
The reason we havent clinched is because NE lost two games to AFC TEAMS; if they had lost both games to NFC and beat Faders and Squeelers; they would likely have clinched.

Thanks for that information. Much appreciated. However it's still asinine that a team leading the league in wins still by nfl metrics hasn't clinched yet no matter what the reasons are.

the defensive hitting after playing 13 straight weeks was something tonite. like they wanted to run through to the bye.

The Pats were the more physical team. They are sound tacklers too. Rarely will a ball carrier escape a solo tackle by a Patriot.

Vrabel has instilled discipline too. It would have been so easy to go off and get in a bench clearing brawl last night, but the Pats players kept their cool.
