OT: Harrison, Vinatieri, Wilfork Advance as Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of '26 Semifinalists

They all deserve to get in, they were all the very best in the league at their respective positions for multiple years.

Rodney Harrison not being in already is a borderline crime against humanity. The. Best. Safety. from the 90s and 2000s. Better than Dawkins, better than all of the ones in already.

My comments weren't based on whether they were worthy or not. My comments are my opinions based on the realities of the Hall of Fame committee. And there is no Ron Borges on it anymore to go to bat for Rodney or Vince.

C'mon man, just helpin' a brother out
Happened on Connelly's kick return vs. Green Bay too. No flags on both.

I'm sure there are others in the HOF that were considered dirty players. At the end of the day, greatness is greatness, and Harrison has won championships and set records. I hope he gets in. Vinatieri will eventually get in. Wilfork doesn't have the counting stats as others mentioned but was one of the most dominant players at his position of his era, he deserves to get in too.

I'm fairly sure the only person Ron Borges is interested in helping is Ron Borges
I find that a crippling statement to Ron Borges' character.

Vinatieri should get in eventually.
The NFL has been around long enough that they can induct a third kicker.
Besides the iconic game-winning kicks, he does hold several NFL records, including most points scored in his career and consecutive field goals made.
The list of people with four super bowl rings that are not in Canton has to be very short.

It will be helpful for his case if the Patriots and Colts would both put him into their team's HoF first.
Not as short as you think. All those Steelers of the 70s and 49ers. About 20 who are eligible but not in.

I think Viniateri gets in. Best big game kicker in the history of the league.

I hope Rodney gets in eventually. He deserves it.

I don’t know enough about Nose Tackles to know if Vince was one of the best.

Vinatieri deserves to get in. I know there is this 'stigma' that special teams players (kickers specfically) aren't 'real' football players because they rarely hit or get hit.....but never-the-less it certainly is a big part of the game...and to fail to recognize those who were best at it would be unjust

Vinatieri checks all the boxes........
He's made HUGE playoff kicks, great regular seasons, AND longevity

Justin Tucker fits that mold too, but I suspect his off field issues will keep him out.

Only true if you accept the notion that Wrong Borges has any character. Having observed that turd since Will McDonough got him hired here from deep within Al Davis’ sphincter, I haven’t seen any evidence of any character. Apparently his wife agreed when she booted his ass from that lovely home in Concord he used to brag about on WEEI.

Regarding Harrison, I simply look at the fact that three of his contemporaries at SS are in, and his numbers dwarf those of Atwater, Butler, and Lynch.

Same goes IMHO for Vinitieri vs. Stenerud and Morton Andersen, better numbers and better championship winning performances.

No way Wilford gets in I’m sorry to say. He deserves it more Warren Crapp but a NT will always be a tough sell unless they have a cute nickname like “Mongo” who got to play between two HOF DL and in front of one HOF MLB.

I’m more interested to see if some HOF voters choose to not elect BB on his first year of eligibility. I predict he will be snubbed as will The Scatback, the prejudice against the Pats and against NE remains very strong IMHO.

Such is the nature of character I think regarding the HOF voters these days. They accept a serial plagiarist and handicapped person attacker as worthy of voting while snubbing deserving candidates due to their warped notions of “protecting the game.”

Ya I don’t think Tucker is getting in for that reason.

Adam absolutely should. He’s as synonymous with Dynasty 1.0 as Brady.

Wil-fork… Wil-Fork… Wil-ferk… WIL-ferk… WIL-FERK…
I even heard Jim Nantz call him Wilferd. I'll have to pull up the game. It's when he intercepted a pass.

If a team has a player like wilfork, they can literally build a whole defensive scheme around that one player. Their interior run D will be forever stout, and two OL would be dedicated to one player on every single pass play.

We might get lucky and see them all go in?? Not sure who their competition is this year

I don’t think Bill gets in first ballot. Not because he doesn’t deserve it, but because he made media’s lives hell for years and they hate his guts.

They can always “justify” it with “cheater” comments.

Brady will get in because he was and is a media darling.

I think they will both get in first ballot. The voters lose all credibility if they deny either one.

They sacrificed 'all credibility' when they allowed Ron Borges to keep his vote
