Show and tell time... Is Kyle Williams this year's Slow Polk?

Kyle Williams been playing over 17 snaps game; same as Pop Douglas but without the production. After Boutte's injury his snaps ramped up in the thirties last week. Hopefully he learned a lot from last week and start getting some targets. Really counting on McDaniels to help get him going.
Douglas spent all preseason up until game one repping with the starters. He only got faded after that.

Williams has been practicing with the 2’s, he only played bulk snaps last game which bumped his average up. If Boutte misses this week again, Williams will likely get more practice reps with Drake.

The people making these arguments are the same ones who wanted them to take a trade for the 3rd pick instead of Maye because " only 30% of first round quarterbacks succeed," and the same ones who didn't want Will Campbell because 99% of left tackles have longer arms." They are also the same people who wanted them to get rid of guys like Edelman, Shane Vereen, and James White.... They have zero patience, and even less common sense. Fortunately Vrabel believes in developing players, so they can cry their little hearts out but these young players are going to be given time and opportunity to develop,

And a month ago you were screaming about Pop Douglas and wanted them to get rid of him.

BUST ALERT

We're all pulling for you KW. Show some progress and production, please.

I think it's far easier to get your footing with 10-12 snaps a game on a team with success all around you and an MVP candidate QB, than with one of the worst QB's in the league and a horrible team looking for you to be an answer as a rookie.
As I mentioned... all it takes is one play outside the numbers to establish a connection and dictate coverage. You'll see teams going back to playing us closer to the line now without Boutte's presence out there.. Williams has a prime opportunity now..

He has 2 career receptions. It's going to take more then 3 receptions for defenses to change how they play the Pats. He'll need multiple games of 50+ yards for teams to change.

Point I'm making is that is where it can start.... taking it game by game.. teams know he has speed.. and if he starts to develop a connection with Drake it takes this offense to another level outside the numbers..

Takes this offense to another level? Sounds like Madden and a pipe dream IMO.
Everyone is open to thier own opinions.. if that's what you believe.. imagine an offense with production outside the numbers.. from Williams abilities. with a healthy Boutte.. it keeps teams from creeping up around the line.. Henry has open field.. the backs have open lanes... just my opinion.. but who am i.. Just a poster...

He's a bust in my mind. Not sure I've ever seen a WR who looks as lost out there. Every time Drake throws a ball his way it misses by like 5 yards because Williams has no idea where he should be and when. I expect a few targets with no receptions against the Bucs.

Remember when we drafted branch? Of course you do. Silly question by me. He provided an element outside the numbers and that in the offense allowed Weiss to call alot of deep action.. Williams has similar skill sets.. he just hasn't caught on yet.. the connection with Drake isn't there..

We can’t compare a guy like Polk who was thrust into a starting role to Williams who plays 10-12 offensive plays a game.

He played a little more last game with Boutte out but wasn’t targeted all that much. I also doubt he has spent much one on one time with Drake as the last guy on the WR depth chart.

Drake and Williams need to spend some quality time after practice working on communication.
Said that myself.. like BB always said and Vrabel recently.. the rookies aren't rookies anymore.. midway point in the season.. been here since OTAs.. guys know what to expect by now from being a NFL player.. Drake and Williams Definitely need the extra practice work.. Williams is a talented player that can provide and element outside the numbers. Unless I'm watching Madden and just dreaming.. Stevie Wonder can see the possibilities..

Only after I kill myself.

Like I told you last time, you can only kill yourself the one time. But if you play your cards right you can make the rest of us think about it over and over again and again.

Maybe an example would be better than an explanation. Try this, input a search for Cunningham, Sam Bam in the box above. That should illustrate what I’m talking about.

I won't say either Williams or Polk are a bust. way too early.
I do see Williams getting open. frequently.
Maye looks elsewhere. Maye and Williams are not on the same page as to where Williams is supposed to be on the route.
I am still in the give it 2-3 years of coaching and learning. I think we have a good player on the roster. help him grow.

imagine an offense with production outside the numbers..
It's been a reality every game with Diggs, Boutte and Hollins. All Williams would do is catch a football that would have gone to them instead. Williams has a lot of talent. I hope he figures out the route tree.

Agreed. I expect until Williams catches on more.. diggs will be more of a factor, pop has really been impressive as well.. Hollins too. Williams is out there for a reason.. and hopefully he can become that other option down feild..
