It was rookie Ponder who did not playI thought that incident was one of the rookies, not Barmore.

Hopefully Barmore puts his best foot forward from here on out.Did you even watch football from 2000 to 2020?
Belichick frequently benched players for a quarter for not following team rules.
Let’s ask Rex Ryan about thisHopefully Barmore puts his best foot forward from here on out.
That felt pretty ominous to me...Mike use the term “…protect the team”
Don't say that his Defenders will have you tarred and feathered.I trust Vrabel to handle this properly. The team has really responded to his coaching and mentoring. A breath of fresh air after the previous regime. Truly time to have a coach who can relate and knows how to motivate the younger generation of players. The BB way is over. Just look south to UNC. How's that working???
I think Vrabel will handle it correctly too, but we'll have to see. I think it's interesting that we haven't heard what it's about yet. You know every Pats reporter is trying to find out. Vrabel's going to have malcontents and problem players. How he deals with Barmore will probably point to how he'll deal with future ones as well.I trust Vrabel to handle this properly. I think we also have to remember that one complaint about him in TEN was that he was too old-school for modern-era players, players were tuning him out, yada yada. It seems Vrabel will just do what he does old-school style which is IMO a good thing, but at some point the push for cultural purity could perhaps cost the team some talented players.I think Vrabel will handle it correctly too, but we'll have to see. Yes, although there have been reports that he has softened his approach since Tennessee. So we'll see. We're very much in the honeymoon phase with Vrabel. We'll see what it's like when the $#!% hits the fan.I think we also have to remember that one complaint about him in TEN was that he was too old-school for modern-era players, players were tuning him out, yada yada. Bedard told the Herald it was a relatively small infraction..Weird sour note from yesterday, wonder what that’s about
Mike Vrabel says he benched Christian Barmore to ‘protect the team’
Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel said that it was his call to bench defensive tackle Christian Barmore in the first quarter on Sunday.www.boston.com
Ellis’s played 39 snaps. Hes just invisibleWas Ellis also benched. Seems like Giddens was playing a lot more than usual.
I watched the whole tunnel video. The huNot sure one hug in the hallway tells us much about the true state of affairs.
I watched the whole tunnel video. The hug with Barmore was longer than with other players and they said something to each other. That's one way to look at it. Another is that no one outside the team knew about it till yesterday and now Barmore is going to keep getting asked about it over and over again by friends, family, reporters, etc. Could be that what we thought was over Sunday is only going to come back to life later today, this week, or this season.
Seems he did not talk to the media after the game so he's not thrilled about it. Who would be? One big sign of it really being over would be him telling the media the penalty was fair and it's all water under the bridge, but we didn't get that.
The whole idea of the penalty is to act as a deterrent. Some times that's how things play out: the penalized party realized they did something wrong, accepts the penalty and changes their behavior. Other times the party being penalized doesn't think the penalty is fair and resentment builds.

Could be; …..but it is always listed as „did not participate; non-health related“I thought Weds off was a medical thing related to last year's blood clots.
I don’t really like the “benching for a quarter” thing if we’re being honest. Not sure what it accomplishes, and it’s very public.
There is a bonehead on every team who is just too self-focused to get the bigger picture.I got benched for a half once (basketball) and it taught me nothing and was soon forgotten (although here I am sharing it decades later ... so maybe...???)
