I was completely wrong on White.
Thought he would have a great year, now he looks like a guy who might have a very short NFL career.

Lots of posters need to admit they were wrong (they won't) on White. He's had two good games in 2024, but has been awful since he was drafted.

I was using double teams too loosely here - most of those were indeed a chip and then leave Campbell one-on-one. But Campbell never seemed to be in the right position after the chip.

I mean, they had 200 total yards...that's a little better than bend/don't break.

They keep having one bad first drive, and then dominating the rest of the game. So it's more like "bend and then break the other guys."

I'm hoping White was inactive today because they have a trade lined up for him. Wishful thinking though I guess.

This is a clear example of how measurables lie. N'Keal Harry's claim to fame was benching as many reps of 225 much as DK Metcalf. He was shown to be very week on the field.

The theory I've heard is that they deliberately play vanillia defense for the first 15 plays, see what the other team wants to do and then adjust accordingly. Disconcerting sometimes but it seems to be workiing more often than not.

My theory is that the 1st drive is played mostly out of their Base Def and after that its more gameplan/flow of game. Tells me great coaching when reacting, but crap preparation in base or their base is just not good.

Had to watch the game later today. Just finished it up, and Maye is still that dude. He did more against that D than most lately. There isn't a team on the schedule coming up they should lose to. There just isn't. Again, Maye is a stud.

I was wrong on White. I thought he was going to be great and he’s not. But I also think this new scheme is doing him no favors.
