I just have this feeling that we're going to end up drawing the Colts in the second round and it's going to be an absolute war.
Interesting.. you know something I have this hunch that the Colts will be one of those teams that get beat in the first round against say like a buffalo or KC..

looking at these next 2 games. 2 bottom tier qbs, ones a rookie and one is a 2nd year guy playing mostly like a rookie. Home games too. Tough defenses but id be pretty suprised if we are not 7-2 heading into tampa.

I haven't watched much of the Colts. Are they riding the coat tails of Taylor too much or are they legitimately well rounded all across the board?

We saw the 'Outside Atlanta' version last night. That's who they are, outdoors.

That Tampa game's shaping up to be really something. I'm pretty confident the Patriots can move the ball on them, even if they're not able to run (Vita Vea).

Yep. That's pretty accurate. Teams habe moved the ball on Tampa.. Tampa has a real advantage at home.. wouldn't be upset if we lost a close on to them..

Shout out to Dobbs, came off the bench, picked up a critical 3 & 5 with a nice pass to Pop. Pats go on to score on that opening drive, up the lead to 24-13, with the dagger coming quickly thereafter with the Chassion fumble recovery for a TD.

If nothing else, Dobbs is always ready to play, you can hear Vrabel tell him, "way to be ready" after the game, and Dobbs just says "always".

Penix is one of those guys who's a pocket passer but has escapbiltlity. The game plan should be stop Robinson and lock up London. Gonzo needs to take this match up seriously and not play lackadaiscal. I want to see my guy Gonzo step it up.

What?

With nine Patriots staffers in attendance, Maye solidified himself as a top-three overall player in this draft on Thursday. He did so by showing what he does best, airing it over 60-plus yards from moving pockets and different platforms/arm angles with ease. His drive throws on seams, in-breakers, and skinny posts were on his receivers in a hurry, and Maye's deep ball was excellent once he settled into the 70-throw script.

Maye can flat-out spin it, and the degree of difficulty far exceeded what we saw in Baton Rouge a day earlier from Daniels. That's not to say the reigning Heisman Trophy did poorly or that Maye was perfect because the UNC quarterback had two erratic misses on deep outs early. However, Maye's coaches were simulating pressure by "blitzing" him to move him off his spot, forcing him to throw off-platform, adding as much of a challenge as possible in this setting to stay on time and throw accurately.

Team executives and coaches were also impressed by the workout. Along with the Patriots top decision-makers, Commanders head coach Dan Quinn and general manager Adam Peters stood next to head coach Jerod Mayo and director of scouting Eliot Wolf for the entire session. It was almost like those four men knew Maye wasn't making it past them.

After watching him hit go-to receiver Tez Walker in stride on a 65-yard bomb, my immediate thought was, "How do the Commanders pass on this guy at No. 2 overall?" Washington, who controls the Patriots destiny in this draft, could fall in love with Daniels' dual-threat ability. But when it comes to who has more clubs in their bag, there's no question that Maye brings a much bigger repertoire of throws to the table as a pure passer.

What I put in bold was not true: there were several missed throws.

I wanted Maye at 3. I'm happy we did.

It's evident on the sideline that the club atmosphere is really good right now. Yes we're winning, but the way Vrabel changed the leadership and culture in the club in just one off-season is really impressive.
I never used to give enough credit to HCs, but the Mayo disaster and Vrabel success has helped me to changed my mind. They can make a difference.

Yep, still won’t have a win outdoors all season when they come in. Robinson could be a problem but i think we key on him and force penix to throw the ball not in a dome

Yea i think thatll be the first game where gonzo will really be key. Stack the box to stop bijan and put gonzo on london. Dare penix to beat you . Otherwise Theres lots of good tape for our staff on him where hes struggled, especially that Carolina game and 2nd half against buffalo. He was putrid

I can shoulder the blame... got a sunny disposition and broad shoulders to carry me through...

Redemption starts in two weeks (thread goes up a week from today) ... @NFL Mystique is welcome to join, along with anyone else who wants to give it a go...
I'm still kicking myself for dumping a successful strategy (still successful today) and picking against the Titans in the only game they won this year. And what a flukey win it was.

Yeah.. he and surtain IMO are the 2 best in the game.. gonzo needs to show he's healthier and start being himself.. London is the exact type of wr gonzo thrives against. Take him out the game. This Falcons team is ripe for the taking.. having just lost to Mac Jones.

If the Patriots go on to establish another dynasty, I fear a mass exodus of football fans in despair. That means countermeasures by the NFL ala deflategate etc. Just saying.

I think that interpretation discounts the one thing we can always count on from Big $hield, unbridled greed. Look at the exponential revenue growth the league saw during the Pats' run. To really sell a good story needs a hate-able villain. The league saw exponential growth with opposing fans hating the Pats when they morphed from the plucky rebellion to the hated Empire. Business is busine$$ my man, gonna keep the formula chugging so long as the money pours in. Trot out another Death Star story line, LFG!

Not exactly solely Pats related... but it is worth mentioning... this weekend has been great for the Pats on the whole.

Steelers lose, Jags lose.Broncos will lose. Charges will lose (Colts losing would have been good too..) The only thing that would have made it better if if KC somehow lost to the lowly Raiders (but clearly that didn't happen).

But maybe best of all. The Browns lit up the Dolphins. Pats will now face a Browns team that they won't sleep on and that just played the game of the year for them... No way they repeat a performance like that. Also not playoff related... but a Jets lost is always fun.

It pretty much all went the Pats way this week.
WTF happened in the Broncos game? The Giants were up 19-0 after 3Qs and lost 33-32?

How long will the Giants have to blow to get rid of Daboll?

Why would we care about Miami or the jets? They both have zero chance to challenge for the playoffs.
They may be the 2 worst teams in the NFL.
They're definitely the two worst teams and one of them is in the running for the worst team ever.

My how the below average have fallen.

Just for entertainment's sake let's imagine after game 15 the Pats can't alter their playoff position. They could lay down and let the Jete & Dollyphins shoot themselves in their draft feet with harmful wins. Either of those organizations would 100% pull a Mayo, it's in their institutional DNA
