I really don't think Buffalo is that good, they shouldn't be blowing this team out from what we've seen so far.

I have no idea what will happen tonight. Bills have injuries to some importnat players.

But boy oh boy, did blowing out the Carolina Panthers really instill some confidence here.

This is Mayes first NFL game in a hostile environment in a game that actually "matters". I use quotes because it's week 5, but this is a big game for the Pats. He cannot lay an egg. Fine, maybe they get blown out. But Maye cannot be the culprit. He cannot have a multiple turnover in game altering situations game.

The defense will be the culprit tonight. They are going to get exposed. Hopefully a few balls bounce the right way and Drake will have a big game to give us a chance.

How amazing would the Patriots blowing out the Bills be.
Less than 10 percent of it happening, but imagine the statement.

I think that type of thing happens when the Bills come in thinking it’ll be a cake walk. I doubt the Bills see them as a pushover.

Maybe I'm just out of practice being optimistic, which is understandable given the **** show we've seen for the past 5 years or so, but though I think they're be overall competitive, I think they'll lose, by a maybe a TD.

On the other hand, I do have just enough optimism that I feel I can genuinely hope they'll win.

I think Drake will play as well as his receiving corps will permit, but that that won't quite be good enough. I guess the hope would be that Josh can scheme it up so the non-wr receivers can take up the slack. That will, of course, require in turn that the running game is good enough to divide the Bills' D attention. That's not an unreasonable hope, given the quality of our rb room and Buffalo's defensive deficiency against the run. This scenario is the basis for hope.

Either way, the team's present status makes it whole more enjoyable to watch games than it has been for years.

I am not expecting the Pats to win Sunday night but I am hopeful.

A disastrous Pats performance may be a set back, but I am not expecting that either.

With Maye’s emergence the Pats are ahead of schedule, and if they beat the Bills in Buffalo, then the Pats have arrived and the rest of the league will take notice.
I was thinking back to the Chuck Fairbanks Pats.

The Pats were a laughing stock for so long before that.

I remember when the Pats emerged early in that season and opened people’s eyes.

I think it was the Steelers and Raiders the Pats beat early.

I remember Al Davis being interviewed that year and he was asked about the teams the Raiders needed to worry about and he mentioned the Pats.

If felt like the Pats had FINALLY arrived.

Tonight’s game could bring a similar feeling with a win in Buffalo, but even a competitive loss won’t be much of a setback.

If the Pats prove to themselves that they can compete with anyone, that may be enough, with their weak schedule looming.

I know it is mainly Pats related items in my media streams, but doesn’t it seem like there is not much discussion of the other QBs from the 2024 draft?

Maye is dominating the conversation, and the Pats appear to have clearly won the recent franchise QB sweepstakes.

Apparently hitting on a young franchise QB will tend to instill optimism too.

As a Bills fan you would know that.

This is one of those rare games where I’m actually not going to be upset with a loss…

I just want to see the offense play well and put pressure on the Bills.

I am not expecting a great defensive effort vs the Bills because the Bills are very good, and the Pats defense seems to lack some crucial playmakers in the midst of the rebuild.

Score 24 plus, and lose by less than 10 and I’ll be pretty encouraged.

Boy oh boy what a flawed statement. Sweet Summer Child, you just aren't very good at this. Not hard to see how your selective participation here led to that faulty assertion though. From the time Allen signed his extension, the sum total of your commenting here was one opening weekend post, enjoying our frustration after the loss to ****sburgh and now this thread. If you were less myopic you'd know confidence has been high right along since the Miami game. The Carolina game just reinforced what we'd already been seeing and saying; our QB gets it. THAT is why we are confident our team is on its way back to respectability, not because they beat up on one of the Sisters Of The Poor.

Gotta say this is the first time in a long time I’ve had that butterfly feeling before a Pats game. Finally a meaningful game.
