Keep expectations for Maye in 2025 realistic

I just disagree. I do not value our WR room as much as you do as of yet. I would love to be wrong. I am not convinced we have a 1000 yard receiver this year.
Is our WR room better than that of the patriot playoff team of 2021?

.

Campbell will have a learning curve and while he could be the long term LT, if he's mediocre, as many rookies can initially be, they can look to upgrade at LT next offseason and kick him inside
If Campbell is mediocre as a rookie LT's can be, then this season's learning curve may make him a much better LT in 2026.

Amazing how some people are already kicking him inside to OG before even playing his first reg season game. Jesus.

Agreed.
Much better QB, elite physical skills compared to below average in 2021.
Better WRs
Better RBs

I will go:
3995 passing yards
700 yds rushing
26 passing TDs
6 rushing TDs
That would be very good.

Of course, is he getting those passing yards because he is playing from behind alot? Maybe he doesn't get to 4k passing yards because the run game is better. Which would benefit everyone.

So many variables. My gut tells me Maye will have struggles this year. But will also make wiser decisions overall.

Another thing: If Maye excels this and next year, will Robert be open to giving him the bag in 2027? Long ways off. But just curious.

Yes. Once you find a franchise QB you don't let them leave the building, period.

200 passing yards is almost nothing x 17 games = 3400 pass yards.

4000 is doable.

Looks like we will find out how much of a “run first “ team we are factors into this…

Ravens were a run first team last year and Lamar was just shy of 4200 yds passing.

If Maye is a franchise QB, of course Kraft won't let him go.

The open question is whether Kraft will pay of he is a top 10 QB, perhaps like a Purdy.

Yes - and hopefully Patsfans put down the urge to panic if that happens, but helpful to look at this as very much a developmental season with a nearly new team.

I've gotta say, the vibe I had last year was mediocrity at best with the question being whether the team had yet hit bottom.

Campbel I expect won't be perfect but will be better than the LTs we had last year.

The play of both lines will determine the W/Ls this season more so than Maye's play in my opinion

We can't always agree.

But....Henderson, Dre and Gibson vs Singletary, Gore and TJ Yeldon. Zero explosiveness in the RB room for Buffalo, and plenty in ours with Henderson. A running game can help out a young QB immensely, and hard to argue Josh had much help out of that group is 2019.

Let's hope I'm right and you're wrong for the team's sake.
I hope you are right. You have potential to be right. I hope I am wrong, but would you really be disappointed if Drake went for 3000 YDS, 20 TD, 9 INT, RTG 85.3, QBR 49.4? I would be very happy with that. We then shop for a real X receiver.
Is our WR room better than that of the patriot playoff team of 2021?

In paper, sure. But this team has not played a single snap of football yet so we have no idea. If they surpass the 2021, then go ahead and crown them as better.

3000 yards would be 176 per game, so yes I would be disappointed, I think he can, and should be better than that. For reference, no QB who played 17 games last year had less than 3500 yds, so 3000 would be a huge disappointment for me.

The 2024 31st ranked offense had 2995 passing yards.

Jacobi can't pass his way out of a wet paper bag and he started 5 games. Milton played the last game and he racked up 240 passing yards.

Maye is starting all 2025 games. He has a cannon for an arm. Diggs is a proven deep threat. We should see a lot more of the bomb TD that Boutte caught from Maye end of 2024.

4000 isn't that big of a reach if musical chair QBs can achieve approximately 3000 losing 13 games. If Maye has 3 - 300 yard games the Pats offense is basically 25% in the books to 4000.
Agreed QBs are heavily aided by the rules geared towards offense throwing for 4000 or 4500 is easily attainable.. Drake can average 250 to 280 passing yards a game and achieve that.

In 2021..Mac Jones had 3,800 passing yards. Mac Jones!!! Drake could at minimum do that. The offense projects to be more balanced than it's been in years.. 4,500 passing yards over a 17 game schedule is attainable. For example for teams that play aggressively we will spread them out and be more pass heavy.

Agreed. Imahobgolin would be happy with 3000 yds, I most certainly would not!

I expect this will be a run heavy team and Josh will have the reins on Maye. Campbell will absolutely shine in that scheme.

Wouldn't be that surprised if Maye only has around 3k passing yards

Maye is too talented to post that paltry number.

Yup.
As I mentioned no QB who played 17 games last year had less than 3500 yds. 3000 is more unrealistic than 4000 imho

I expect a Big Third Year jump from Pop Douglas 850 or more yards: about 1000 from Diggs. That's close to 2000 yds not counting the H Henry and A Hooper: also I expect around 650 from Boutte and about 400yds from Kyle Williams.

My hope is mainly that he cuts out the hero ball fumbles/ints, the not sliding when sensible to do so and gets 3500 yards with a 2/1 ration of td/ints. would be ecstatic with that

I understand what you are saying. I was just exaggerating for the sake of humor. My intent with my comment was supposed to make people laugh.
How was that funny

4,000 yards a pipe dream?

Take out Chargers debacle he had 9 full games, average yards per game(234.88) spread over 17 games for those 9 equals right at 4,000 yards (3,993).

You think he'll be worse this year than last year?

He already showed he can throw for an average per game the equates to 4,000 yards with a below average OC and worse skill players and line so barring injury or sitting the last game he should be over 4,000 yards and everyone should be expecting that.
Sam thinks everything is worst than it was before and will be after.
