Sometimes. It doesn't take 3 years with every player. It takes 3 years to really know if you have a good player.

No, but its customary to give a rookie at least 3 years unless he is horrid.Sometimes. It doesn't take 3 years with every player.
Well said. I think there are poster on here that want Campbell to fail, and I say shame on you. It’s sad we have a Josh Simmons thread that is already 9 pages deep but not a “Will Campbell Watch” thread.
There’s been the good, the bad and the ugly already with Will but we want to talk about a guy who was drafted end of first round.
A lot of the 2024 draft will not last 3 years. No, but its customary to give a rookie at least 3 years unless he is horrid.
They were sated for a while after Chad Ryland, even though Ryland is excelling in Arizona, but they are hungry again.Well said. I think there are poster on here that want Campbell to fail, and I say shame on you.
I think Jared Wilson is more of a steal than Josh Simmons, but maybe that is just me.
It’s been stated for months how this was one of the deepest drafts in years but one of the worst at the top in ages. Outside of Hunter and Carter, there was no one worthy of being a top 10 pick in most years. No one wanted to trade except to get Hunter; there was no other trade until pick 25. This is unusual compared to other recent drafts.Jim Murray talked about how Campbell is showing signs that he can be an elite run blocker but his pass blocking is still a work in progress. Top 5 picks should be great at both right off the bat IMO let's see where he's at going into the season.
And Will Campbell has 32 5/8 inch arms. If anything we took the bigger risk with Campbell at #4. Look I hope Campbell pans out ok despite his T-Rex arms but if you are gonna bring up the arm length issue, beware of throwing stones while living in a glass house!I think he has 33" arms, so he obviously sucks.
I remember the Patriots taking a risk on a high upside TE with an injury leading up to the draft. Gronk turned out to be really worth that risk. With our luck since the last Superbowl, Simmons would've been another Dominque Easley for us with injury problems not the stud he is so far in TC lol
Looked like 33" to me when he was checked again. And Will Campbell has 32 5/8 inch arms. If anything we took the bigger risk with Campbell at #4. I was in the group who wanted to trade down from #4 and possibly take Simmons later but what is done is done. I hope WC is a big success with the Patriots. But I am still leery of his ability to succeed with the short arms. Hopefully he was the right pick. Drake Maye needs his blindside well protected in order to thrive.
I was on board with taking Jeanty or Tet after a slight trade down and then trading up with our second pick for Simmons.I remember the Patriots taking a risk on a high upside TE with an injury leading up to the draft. Gronk turned out to be really worth that risk.
A lot of posters, not just myself felt Simmons could be the best pure LT to come out of this draft. It is kind of infuriating that the Chiefs got a potential franchise LT drafting that late and we might get just an ok LT drafting at #4 overall. Which is why a lot of us wanted to trade down and get more value. Simmons would still have been there for us if we moved down into the 10-15 range AND we would have received extra draft capital in the process.
Pats took a chance oh Ras-I Dowling who had injury concerns too.I remember the Patriots taking a risk on a high upside TE with an injury leading up to the draft. Gronk turned out to be really worth that risk.

Our own cole strange got patellar tendon issues . We can see how it's impacted him. Possibly cutting his career short .Don’t mean to get in the middle of something here. But in addition to loss of mobility, patellar teams come with a high risk of re-injury. So the question with Simons isn’t just how he looks, but if the knee holds up for the next 3+ years.
Gamble makes sense for the Chiefs. Less so for us.
Also, doesn’t every team and local media write an obligatory “we got us a star in the making,” article about their 1st round draft pick every year?
And neither of them were picked at #4 or in the first round at all.Pats took a chance oh Ras-I Dowling who had injury concerns too.
No, we tear down our first round picks with a "we got us a bust in the making," article because we're the Boston media. Also, doesn’t every team and local media write an obligatory “we got us a star in the making,” article about their 1st round draft pick every year?
This. The Chiefs are in position to take a chance on a high risk higher reward guy like Simmons.Gamble makes sense for the Chiefs. Less so for us.
The evidence doesn't seem to support top tackles Being great at both from day 1.Jim Murray talked about how Campbell is showing signs that he can be an elite run blocker but his pass blocking is still a work in progress.
