I think Mankins, AV, and even Wes will all get in eventually. AV probably really soon. Wes and Mankins will have to wait out DMac, Hightower and a few others but their day will come.
Mankins has been on the ballot for how long now? Four or five years? Pretty soon he won't make the finalist vote. The whole body of the second dynasty is coming to the fore in the next few years... The longer it takes, the harder it will be to get in...

We all know who is getting in next year... He will be followed by hightower... Then Devon mccourty... Belichick after that, though it will be with a player as well

Where it kind of goes off the tracks is when it becomes a popularity contest.
of course its a popularity contest - the Fans vote, the winner gets in

AV plus 5-10 dynasty 2 guys including BB then he'll be back in consideration.

that may be... but AV has my vote if he makes it to the final round next year... Gronk can wait afaiac
That's a bold take. I'd bet the mortgage Gronk goes in.

Since I think kickers and special teamers have a more limited impact on games, it becomes a choice between Jules and Mankins for me and Jules is the winner. They could all get in but I'd rank them Jules, Mankins and AV.

First ballot in Foxboro and Canton

HELL YEAH!

YO SOY FIESTA BABY!!!

0.0% chance it is anyone besides Gronk next year, they might as well not even have any other candidates. Universally loved, has all the stats, multiple championships, and memorable plays out the ying yang. Gronk is probably a top 20 all time player in NFL history. Love AV but no way is he getting in over Gronk.

I'm aware of that fact, and have said as much...

Doesn't mean i will vote for him... consider me a contrarian, a protest vote if you will... Gronk is inevitable next year

best tight end ever to play in the NFL... for me, and i expect no one else to agree with my opinion - I'm standing alone on Pape Island for this one - i grew weary of the whole "gronk smash" persona after awhile...

that's just me though, & I'm 1000% positive the phrase "ymmv" has never been more accurate than it is in this instance...

I look at it this way. I think the team HOF is based upon the contributions of the players to your franchise. If you never won a SB the total career of the players are the contribution.
But when your franchise history includes 6 Championships the players who contributed to those are the contributions you want to recognize.
Where it kind of goes off the tracks is when it becomes a popularity contest.
Yes and that's the point of the team HOF. It's for the fans.

The most dominating/game altering TE we’ve ever seen. Tony Gonzalez was the beginning of the shift at TE. But Antonio Gates got teams really scrambling to find the next athletic TE. Gronk was bullying defenders so badly like Shaq, it forced teams into dirty tactics like continually going at his knees. Nobody wanted to get caught alone in the open field with Gronk.

Ben Coates started that arms race... He was doing it before both of them... stepped up his game in '93, and he really connected with Beldsoe in '94, 2-3 years before Gonzales & a full decade before Gates...

Loved Coates! That guy was dragging tacklers and defenses needed 4 guys to take him down in the open field. DB's would complain when they'd bounce off him like quarter when fighting for passes. I didn't think we'd ever seen a TE ever again that was in Coates' caliber.

For Gonzalez and Gates, I was referring to the shift in athleticism and the basketball style TE becoming more of a WR. Shannon Sharpe was in this more athletic category first, but he was smaller than Gonzalez and Gates.

Any person who understand the game does too.

Triumph thinks kickers are as important as QBs.
Andy Johnson foolishness.

A 48 yard FG is no gimme and especially under duress.

Kickers have the opportunity to turn failed drives into points. So, in the moment, when it's time to do their job, they are.

We were lucky Adam was up to the task in the snow bowl, up to the task in 36 & 38, and in 39, while there was still time to play left on the clock, his final fg was the margin of victory.

You put a list out asking who would you place Adam ahead of - relative to the time period - I would put him ahead of everyone not named Tom Rodney Willie or Tedy - he was that crucial to the success of the team in dynasty 1.
