Yes, I know that this is the BS season.

Funny how people interpret things. I took this as a very reasonable and thought out response and indication that they want him and that they have a plan for how to bring him along which ultimately would give him a chance to play both positions.
Same. All I got from it is how elaborate he was on Hunter. Very long response about how they'd use him. He spent a good couple of minutes on it

Side note: imagine the level of meltdown there'd be on this board if Hunter falls to them but they draft Campbell instead

Ok.

Aren’t we at (1) if Sanders is gone, we take Hunter (2) if he’s still on the board we take Campbell ?

That seems the consensus though a trade down and draft Cambell or one of the other tackles is still on the board.
Anyone thinking they won't draft Hunter at 4 if there has not been paying attention. He's 100% the pick if there.

If Vrabel takes Campbell or Membou at 4 it’s because they have them all in their top tier, in which case need becomes the decision maker.

Right. The Patriots take Hunter 4 if he is available. Unfortunately he will not be available.

If he is gone and Carter is still on the board, I would like to see the Patriots trade down--they are sure to find a willing trade partner. Carter would be good trade bait.

If both Carter and Hunter are gone, the Patriots may try to trade down and get more picks, but I don't see how they can find a trade partner (who would trade up for Campbell?). So they will be stuck with Campbell. Solid but boring pick.

Wolfe and Groh are running the draft per order of Thunder Kraft.

Kraft has to show that he is the NEP GM to make into Canton. Like big Jerry did.

I’m fine with either and trust Vrabel and Co to make the right decision (eg maybe they make other moves etc)

I would be asking my buddies in Cleveland how they feel about Milton 4 and our third to move up to 2 to jump the Giants on Hunter or Carter.

I can’t help but think maybe this is the reason Milton hasn’t been dealt yet.
Cause if you listen to Vrabel it certainly sounded like he was open to sending him where film he could get more playing time.

If Vrabel doesn’t take Hunter at 4, it’ll be because he was already taken before that.
I don't think the Patriots should select Travis Hunter.

Hunter may fall down the board since he's not necessarily going to fill a gaping hole on a bad team. The Patriots most glaring mess for the past few years is/was the offensive line. The three teams ahead of the Patriots have similar fundamental weaknesses - two QBs and defense come to mind when looking up the draft board. The Patriots have done a good/great job of strengthening defense at all three levels, but still lack that foundational young offensive lineman.

Hunter is a luxury selection. If anything, someone down the Board may trade for the 4th pick to get Hunter. Teams like the Ravens, Lions, and Chargers with proven veteran QBs would be frightening with a guy like Travis Hunter and have enough confidence in their trenches to make a splash move.

There are five very good offensive tackles projected to go in the top 40 picks. The Patriots could do a lot with a generous trade, especially if it yields a second round 2 pick in this year's draft.

LT is the glaring need elephant in the room.

Draft an overhyped Colorado WR.

Is there a LT available at #4 who is definitely and significantly better than someone they can trade back into the first round to get late in the first or stay where they are in the second and draft? There isn't a LT in this draft without major question marks. Campbell may end up being a guard. Membou is a RT. All the rest of the guys may be available in the 20s and the Pats may be able to trade up to get.

The only way I want the Pats drafting a LT is if they trade down for one.
