Yeah - I would prioritize a mid tier guy who who is solid and stays healthy over a higher upside guy with an injury history. With a few exceptions, of course.I don't think pursuing these upside plays on injury risks makes sense for us. We need dependability and stability. When you have glaring holes on the roster being filled by sub-NFL caliber players, it puts everyone else in a tough spot development wise because now they're forced to play out of position or less developed schemes to accommodate for that weakness. CB across from Gonzo is one of those spots. Alexander would fill it obviously... unless or until he's out injured again in which case we're back to playing the same bums that take away from everyone else's development.
It'd be different if we were a stacked team and just needed to fill one hole. Then I'd just gamble on having him healthy for the playoffs. But for where we're at, I don't think injury risks make the most sense for us.
