Would taking DT Jonathan Allen clean up the draft trade possibilities?

NFL teams surprise me sometimes, but I don’t see any reason he should have trade value. He missed a bunch of time, didn’t play well when he was on the field, and is due $17M at a position of strength in this free agency class. He’s probably getting cut and then signing somewhere for maybe ⅓ of what he’s currently due on his existing contract.

It really is a strength the more I look at it. The trenches on both sides are pretty well stocked, which is good for NE.

Whatever direction the team takes at DT, I hope Godchaux isn’t factored into any part of that decision beyond leaving like softly suggested. Hard to have any respect for him at this point after seeing him get BF’d routinely by any IOL who wasn’t a complete JAG, yet have the hypocrisy after games to question other teammates abilities to the media. Have faith the team will do right.

Just perusing Commanders fan sites and they seem to be of the opinion that he's very much in decline
