Bieniemy Had Been 'Top Candidate' For Patriots Prior to McDaniels Hiring

We'll agree to disagree on everything.
Kinda hard to not say that when your argument comes down to Kelce losing a step turns the best offense in the NFL in an average one, and losing the OC who was there 5 years and put up Reid’s 5 best seasons leaving has nothing to do with dropping to average when he left.
I mean we can agree to disagree the earth is flat too.

Kinda easy to say over the last two years the offensive production has gone down when teams can play single coverage on a 35yo TE, they don't respect the WRs and the running game is complimentary.

If you can't see/don't agree that is the case that's fine.

The WRs were no more respected in 2022 than since and the running backs have been as equivalent as it gets.

I don’t believe Travis Kelce losing a step costs a team 100 points a season.

I believe that OCs have a significant impact on the success of an offense.

OK as I said we'll disagree on all points.

So you should have just agreed when I disc it appears you feel OCs are irrelevant and it’s all about the TE. You’ve concluded that Kelce’s production dropping a little is the difference between best and average and the OC change was meaningless.

If you want to keep arguing - fine.

OCs certainly have value. Just not as much as you make it out to be.

Production dropping a little? Try like 500yds. Thats 2017 Gronk vs 2018 Gronk. Add the running game and average WRs.

Enough already.

It’s not that I want to keep arguing it’s that you seem to insist on ignoring the major change and crediting minor ones.

Kelce dropped 350 yards from 22 to 23. 350 yards from a TE isn’t 100 points.
Gronk 17 to 18 dropped 400 yards and the patriots scored 22 points less and only 1 fewer offensive TD. Dropped from 2nd to 4th.
Those facts don’t support Kelces decline contributing a loss if 100 points
The 2023 Chiefs scored 22 fewer offensive TDs than the 2022 Chiefs.
Gronk decline was worth 1 TD, Kelces smaller decline worth 22?

The WRs in 22 were no better than in 23 and the RB was the same guy.

Every fact is against you.

Yes, you do want to keep arguing.

In 2022 Kelce had 110 catches, 12TDs,- 84 points. 78 1st downs and 1338yds...

In 2024 Kelce had 3TDs - 21 points, 823yds 47 1st downs

Thats over 500 less yards, 9tds, 31 less 1st downs.

If that isn't a major dropoff I don't know what to tell you. Are you saying Reid doesn't know how to get Kelce open?

In 22 they also had 2 defensive TDs, 18 rushing TDs, 24 was 0 and 15. no McKinnon (9 rec TDs in 22)

There is your 100+ points. Kelce dropoff, rushing TDs, McKinnon.

When star players decline and the talent leaves, the offense suffers in the end zone and the ability to move the chains.

Every fact there is against you.

Bienenmy is not the great OC you think he is. He just had very good players.

Good night.

Huh?
In 22 they had 59 offensive TDs. In 23 they had 37.

I am saying the offense was much better when it my was OC and fell apart as soon as he left.
The best 5 years of Andy Reid offense were the 5 EB was OC. They immediately became average as soon as he left.

Are you seriously telling me that rushing TDs don’t count?

I am giving Bienemy credit for the job he did and the results he produced.
It’s ridiculous to say kelce getting a year older, and losing juju and journeyman McKinnon should make the best offense in football mediocre. I know you don’t believe that but you are dig in, so I guess we should just move on.

Coaching matters.

I don't think the discussion needs to be what became of the KC offense with out Bienemy.
as I mentioned on page 1 of this discussion, what became of Bienemy after he left KC and Reid?
he really flamed out in Washington. he left UCLA rather quickly. both departures came with concerns that he was too harsh on the players, and did not get along in the locker rooms.
glad the Pats passed.

Yep like it said we don't agree on anything on this topic.
