Bieniemy Had Been 'Top Candidate' For Patriots Prior to McDaniels Hiring

Looks like Vrabel agrees with me

no reflection on the O/P posting, but I simply do not believe it.
Bienemy flamed out big in Washington in less than 1 year, and over stayed his welcome at UCLA in less than 1 year.
question being if Nagy is/was going to get a HC job (maybe N.O.?) would Bienemy be welcome back in KC? I believe not
Chiefs were significantly better on offense when Bienemy was their OC than without him. His years were also largely the best of Andy Reid’s career.

Yep and happens to coincide with Mahomes.

I won't dispute the numbers
but the players included Hill and a younger Kelce
My comments were more post KC, Bienemy has really flamed out

Was Bienemy even calling the plays? I think the difference is the weapons.

What is a coordinator who doesn't call plays? I've never understood, whether it was him or Mayo or whoever. Are they just like a manager, making sure things run on time and players are where they're supposed to be?

They got better when he became OC and got worse when he left.

I'd love to bring him on as a senior advisor type role. Sure Reid called the plays in KC but it's ignorant to pretend like EB wasn't doing anything. He was still a part of the gameplan and I'm sure had some input. The results have been bad since he left KC though so I wouldn't have turned over the full-on OC role to him, but I'm sure he can be a part of a good coaching staff still. I'm sure he has some offensive ideas and concepts he could bring to the table.

McDaniels is pretty established in this role though and has his own schemes. So not sure it makes sense anymore.

Bieniemy was OC for 5 years.
The chiefs scored 493 points per season in those 5 years.

In the 5 before that they scored 414 per season and in the 2 since they scored 378 per season.

Andy Reid’s 5 highest scoring offense seasons of his career as a HC were the 5 Bienemy was OC.

No thats what you are saying I said.
Isn’t that a logical assumption?

We disagree about Bienemys impact.

I say the offense has been much worse since he left.

You rebut that with

Kelce has declined

Correct.

So then you are saying OCs are irrelevant and it’s all about the TE because your only reason the OC doesn’t deserve credit or blame is the TE

Edit: let me clarify. I know you did not “say” that, but that is what you said amounts to

No I said losing a top WR and their TE no longer being an all-pro caliber player is why the offense is not what it was.
