“Smoke” surrounding Pats org, according to grilled cheese sandwich (Remains Unconfirmed)

My gut says this will have more to do with Pats basically having an agreement to hire Vrabel in place before they even fired Mayo. Not sure what would/could come of that but I do believe it would be a big deal in the media and could be perceived as violating the Rooney rule.
My guess is if it was really the case it would have came out already.
The threat and timing though sound revenge is the motive
It stinks revenge to me also. It’s probably about tanking accusation and him getting fired for winning the last game.

Mayo gave me the impression of an entitle guy. My guess is that he thought he had 3 years guaranteed and now that he got fired, he wants to get back at Kraft.

Well, and if they wanted to come after Patriots for that specific thing a lot of people would also have to look long at hard at ol Jerry Jones.
They seem to leave Jerry alone for some reason.

What if he used the N word or some other defamatory slang?

If this is Kraft courting Vrabel while Mayo is employed should be a fine and a slap on the wris.
Why any punishment? Courting a replacement for someone you wish to fire isn't something punishable. As long as Vrabel wasn't working for another team, which he wasn't, it ain't tampering.

This is an example of why twitter is such a **** show.
People making up rumors and spreading them to millions of people from their mother’s basement

all this hand wringing over tanking? but no one is willing to put their name on it? interesting...

I'd actually be more upset if we found out he told Mayo to win the last game...

at least its not about him being a grabby grabberson with the women folk of gillette...

The Chiefs played all their backups and got blown out by Denver cause KC didn’t want Cincy in the big dance to me that’s worse.

The Rooney rule only requires interviews. If the interviews are bogus, that’s not a violation. Nor is it provable.

The only thing I could see that could get Kraft and the team in trouble would be being ordered, bribe or asked to lose.
This. The rule isn't about making sure candidates are hired. It's about networking and exposure. You could even argue that the Rooney Rule already got a candidate in front of Vrabel's staff that wowed everyone and got them a job.

Having Vrabel as the preferred and gearing up to hire him is not against the rule

to me its just part of the game...

tanking has long been part of the nfl and its rich traditions

he was working for the browns, as a consultant

Consultants are generally not employees, don't think Vrable had to ask for permission to interview with anyone, Maybe wrong, but makes a big difference when considering tampering.

As I’ve said a hundred times over the last 13 months:

The Belichick haters got what they wanted; now you’re getting what they deserve.

Thats the frustrating thing if any of this is true and we face consequences. tanking happens plenty and in other cases teams actually do get screwed over by it, whereas in this case it didn’t affect anyones playoff hopes if buffalo won.

I really think @UGAPatsfan has it right. If it were something really salacious, one of the NFL insiders would have something on it.

Well, and literally in that same game the other team tanked harder and better. They punted from the Pats like…35 yard like FFS.
