As I understand it, this is the rumor (But people are making this to be more than it is): Kraft pressed a pin onto Mayo's lapel, but it went straight through the silk suit and into May's nipple. Ever since then Mayo has been lactating and this is what caused Kraft to meet with Vrabel before the season ended. Kraft is lactose intolerant, so he needed an alternative. No matter how many times people tried to explain to Kraft that this was all an overreaction, he kept insisting that mayo has dairy in it. Whatever happens, the Patriots need to make a move; I myself have had elder folk losing it in my family in similar fashion, but they weren't in charge of a football team.

I don't think it has anything to do with tanking. Complete speculation, but maybe it explains Robyn Glazer leaving the whole Kraft organization, which seems weird.

Journalism. Nobody wants to shoot their credibility in the foot and open themselves up before they can triple check something this big. Maybe some low rent guy will. But someone like Savage is slowly building his brand, this is the type of thing that if you get wrong people ignore you forever, but if he ends up being right people will always say "Savage was ringing the bell on this story".

I find it surprising that many here are having a hard time imagining Kraft actually ****ing up majorly the past 4 years, with last year being the product of his megalomania. Mayo is a red herring, this situation wouldn't even be a thing if Kraft wasn't such an absolute moron in handling the Brady/Bill transition. Was Mayo pretty bad? Yes. Was that situation a set-up for failure from the get-go? Yes.

There was a reason why, even with the majority of us hating his coaching, most of us said "he at least will have a second year."

Very, very, very few expected him to be let go. Just because it's something we wanted doesn't mean it happened in a "proper" way, if that makes sense.

I cannot see why ANYONE at the top would say this or anything similar, since you know…these days cameras/phones are everywhere. Sad thing is no one needed to even say anything to Mayo to get him to lose. Coulda said nothing and all woulda been fine.

The best wild ass speculation from the unsubstantiated innuendo of rumor seems it would be that Kraft told Mayo to lose and fired him when he didn’t.
Nothing else seems to fit given the rumor that it would end his HOF candidacy and impact the team.

20 years from now they’re going to be doing a list of all time NFL rivalries/enemies and Mayo will be on top with us even though he isn’t a team. If any of this is true, he won’t even be able to walk through Logan much less downtown Beantown.
