"some will talk"

Humans are no longer the most advanced species because of this very fact.
Hey, it's true isnt?

I dont know if he will ever be even in a candidates/nominees (I do think so if Im honest), but sports talk about this very subject? absolutely

Flacco is not a borderline HoFer.

Hes had a very good career.

Agree completely. QB’s get the pass when it comes to the HOF. If you have a ring you are considered, but they shouldn’t be. To me HOF goes to players who completely dominated at their position for most of their career. Flacco doesn’t belong in the Hall, and neither does Eli Manning, a couple of big wins doesn’t make you a Hall of Fame player.

I would rather see them draft another low round high ceiling QB prospect. If you get a few strong showings from them they turn into future draft picks. Once they get to real contender status I could see them getting a veteran who has been there to put on the bench, but for now keep going with young guys. You can always hire a guy like Hoyer to be there for them during games. In fact Hoyer makes more sense now that MacDaniels is back, he may even want to grab that opportunity as a way to get into coaching.

If Flacco gets "consideration" Eli, Rivers, Russell Wilson, and Matty Ice should get in.

I have no problem with them bringing in a vet to continue to be the mentor, the same way Brissett did. Hell, I wouldn't mind Brissett. But Flacco's never been a favorite. And I'd like to see Milton take the step up to QB2, if McD thinks he's ready.

So, any long-term starting QB is HOF worthy. And Rodney Harrison will still be on the outside looking in. God help me, I can see the HOF actually going that way.

They will all get consideration. None of them should get in imo. If they do it will become the Hall of Very Good.

I feel the same way, but It’s Vince Wilfork that’s really getting the shaft. He was double teamed his entire career and still dominated.

Yea i'm not a fan of the "longevity" criteria either..

You can argue Eli and Wilson as they've won the SB and have volume.

Matty Ice and Rivers have great numbers and have played in a decent amount of playoff games...that's Dan Fouts who is a HoFer.

I assume Flacco will get some opportunities from teams that would allow him to get on the field.
if he were to sign here, after camp, he very well could truly be #3, and never see the field.
I think he looks elsewhere

If he wants to play he should go back to Cleveland. Deshaun Watson should be prosecuted for fraud.

Jump Ball Joe should have been the guy last year, but they wouldn't have ended up with the #4 pick, either, because they likely would have won a couple more games, and Mayo probably doesn't get ****canned.

It seems to me that the winning attitude is back in Foxboro, now that the Tank for Travis failed.

Eli is getting in because of Manning bias and NY bias. It then becomes the Hall of Very Good.

Fouts is a legit first year of eligibility Hall Of Famer in my book

Exactly and thats the thing....for those of us who actually saw Fouts play in the early/mid 80s in that ridiculously good Chargers offense there is no question he was a 1st ballot HoFer.

Thats the argument guys like Belichick are making. There is no standard/set criteria for the HoF.

Is it stats? # times they've led categories? Wins? Super Bowls?

Why not.

Still think he's good for 1-2 good spot games a year. Nothing more

Family Members?

I love this

I think Milton is the biggest beneficiar. Flacco, who seems to be a great QB mentor, can give him mental reps while Maye is playing, help out on some thing that Drake have on instinct (not to mention just help both of them with questions and all that).

by the start of next season, even with a perfect off season, we might not have 53 players worth a NFL roster spot, so taking one away to build a actual great (potentially) QB room, with 2 young guys is excellent
I would prefer Milton be active rather than the emergency QB.

Make Flacco the emergency QB?

The report is stating that they could see the interest in Flacco if Milton is traded. Why Flacco? Does he have any experience with the offense/terminology? Is he actually going to help Maye understand the offense/terminology? If the answer is yes, then Im all for it. If the answer is no, then why bother?
