Wonder if he makes in on Vrabs staff.
I have a feeling Vrabel will figure out how to get the best of the coaches that have ability. And if they don't, they won't be here very long.

I don't mind him or AVP if they continue to hone their crafts: But I don't want either at the Top of anything regarding our Passing Game.

Maye is best pushing the ball down the field from the pocket.

I forgot about Josh McCown. History with Maye. Runs the WCO which looks to be Vrabel's preferred offense based on his time in Tennessee. Learned under Kevin O'Connell. His biggest knock is he doesn't have a lot of experience as a coach.
Yeah, I think he could be the real dark horse candidate.

The Lazar write-up is interesting.

So there are three distinct dimensions here:

1. How good a coach is he, and how good a fit for Maye?
2. Will he be here for the next 4-5 years, or just passing through on the way to a HC position?
3. WC or Earhardt-Perkins terminology?

Fortunately Vrabel is in a good position to judge all these issues. He grew up with E-P, and he just came from a WC shop.

OT for this thread, but I didn't realize Vrabel was never a starter for his first contract, and Belichick then signed him to a 4-year minimum contract.

Belichick wanted to draft Vrabel with the Jets, but the Jets didn't need a LB at the time. Supposedly, Belichick told Vrabel when they did a scouting visit that Vrabel would one day play for him even though they wouldn't be drafting him.

You wish that's how it is.

The Godfather is not ceding control of the Patriots family business to anyone. Bob is making money. The right time to get rid of Wolf and his soldiers is now to bring in Vrabels people. The Godfather allowed Vrabel confidant Cowden into the family, but that's it.
Wolf is not a Corleone.....

Mccown with a vet passing game type coordinator or some other vet in a position on offense wouldn't be the worst decision
