Tavai: “Booing fans should know their place”

KNOW YOUR PLACE

That would be another great slogan to see on signs held by fans on Sunday!

The historical connotation would resonate nicely with the league’s concern about DEI.

Robert would be mortified.

Please do it. For the HOF voters!
For a first pass SWAG it would cost a couple of thousand to fly a banner tow over Gillette saying this.

I can’t afford that myself, but I would contribute to it.

Heck I’d even fly it myself I had access to a tow plane…

Guy has never been to the movies, the theatre, a concert, walked past a busker, a street artist, been to a school performance of any kind and not ever offered an opinion or critique, left early, etc. Always just supported. Guy is trippin' or just shooting his way out of town.
His metaphor is all wrong.

This is the proper metaphor:

I had a friend who was hired to teach at the U. of Michigan. Salaries were not all that great and housing was incredibly expensive. Still, he decided to buy a ranch house outside the Big House (stadium in Ann Arbor). The mortgage was incredible for a 900 sq. ft 2 bedroom 1 bathroom house. One morning in early fall, he heard a lot of commotion outside his house at around 6 am. He looks out the window and what does he see? 5-10 cars on his back lawn with a bunch of strangers milling about. He goes outside looking confused, annoyed and peeved. The people who parked on his lawn look to be in their 60s or so. So he confronts them and they tell him, "Son, calm down. We've been parking here in this backyard for many decades, everyone who is going to park on your lawn today knows each other and we always tailgate in your yard on gamedays." So, my friend is kind of scratching his head at this state of affairs. The guy that took him aside gives him a rundown of the process. He tells him about the previous 6 owners of the house and how they used to enjoy all the free food and free drink they wanted for 7 Saturdays every year. (And BTW, would you kindly open your bathroom to us...?) Then they pay him $15 a pop. By the end of the afternoon, he bags $600 from 40 cars. This happens another 6 times that year, and he ends up making $4200 off the whole deal (plus free food and drink). He pays 3 months of his mortgage with that money.

The point is, the players come and go. The coaches and the GMs come and go. Even the owners come and go. Sure, Dante Scarnecchia may stick around a while. But for the fans, these teams are institutions that belong to us. Sure, you can rent them out and charge us money, but we're the long-timers. These teams are us. They don't belong to Tavai. Even Kraft is just a caretaker. The team belongs to New England until an Orthwein comes around and tries some funny stuff... but even then, I will park on Tavai's lawn and I'll tell him to chill out, have a drink, and STFU!

I wonder if we will see some "KNOW YOUR PLACE" signs on game day. Along with "FIRE MAYO" signs and chants. And lots and lots of boos!
I imagine they'll be confiscated pretty quickly.

Love D-Mac but you’re not going to find objective commentary on Mayo from him and this wasn’t an exception.

How? If they get them past the gate (unlikely) they'll never show up on TV and Kraft likely wouldn't even see them
How hard is it to hide a sheet of paper? Sheesh what a loser mentality, give up without trying. You really know your place eh?

If there’s enough of them Kraft will see them, or at least hear about them.

They probably wouldn’t get on TV but stranger things have happened,

They’d almost certainly get some press mention, and likely internet photo posts.

Again, if there’s enough of them. Not if loser fans don’t try of course….

just more drama and noise .... media feasting on the misery.
I am on to free agency and the draft.

Everyone attending the game should print this out and hold it up during the pre-game team introduction.

It’d be worth spending a few bucks on bulk copying and some time handing them out in the tailgating and entry areas. If only I were in New England…
I didn't stop to think of it much, but that would be a nice little Kraft-specific burn wouldn't it?

Wow, I can’t believe he would say something like that . Without the fans there would be no team, no league, nothing at all ! I have spent so much over the years on merchandise and watching every Sunday and attending when possible, all the fans have a right to their opinions. Who is he to tell us otherwise and this is what happens when a very inferior product is on full display in front of millions. He is talking down to the fans and treating us like we are 5 years old!!! ‘We should know our place ‘!!! WTF !!! He should know his place, fleecing the team for millions and doing nothing on the field ! He is a terrible player !!!
If Mayo is back next year, and presumably Tavai, then we fans should stay away while we do some introspection on what our place is.

Check back with us after the Krafts clean house.
