I remember last year when both free agents and possible assistant coaches described the Patriots interview and selling process as the worst one they endured of all the teams they traveled to. It sounded like a full room and a corporate approach, although that's just from trying to figure out what the visitors meant from their descriptions. They all talked about how it drove them away from the Patriots.Everyone from ownership, front office, coaches, and players are doing their best to make this team as humanly unlikeable as possible.
Seems like the visitors absolutely sniffed out the dysfunction.
I'm a bad interviewee in the sense that whenever I sniff out a problem when the interviewers ask a pointed question, I will "go there" and ask them about their culture, even though I've been told never to do this.
I just want to save myself the time even if it blows me up at some places which might actually be right for me. I don't want bad situations. I'd rather get paid less.
The Patriots have a culture problem and that starts from the top.
