Tavai: “Booing fans should know their place”

Good analogy. I wonder what Tavai would make of a silent stadium after a win of big play?
Tavai: "Aren't you guys pumped up??!"

Fans: "Well, you see, sir, we're not actually qualified to grasp the minutiae of what has taken place on the field, so we are simply knowing our place by sitting here quietly and being seen but not heard. Thanks for being you!"

Seems Tavai has a self-censoring mental impairment. Basically telling fans to sit down and shut up is out of line. Reminds me of The Rock lol.

This is the thing about Bill I miss the most. His policies of putting guardrails around what players should/should not say. He knew damn well some players are competent with the media and others lacking in the necessary sophistication and savvy to filter what they think. This saves neanderthals like Tavai from saying moronic things like this.

Mayo's policy of allowing players to have "voices" and enabling them to speak their minds isn't always in the organization's best interests- especially when you have unsophisticated players like Tavai calling out the fans.

This cannot make Kraft happy all. It's one thing for the team to suck. It's another for players to call out the fans for letting them know they suck.

At least Godchaux was measured and thoughtful in his comments about the booing/fire Mayo. I was ok with that.

This is on a different level. Idiot.
I was one of Bill’s biggest critics but he excelled at avoiding BS like this coming from the mouths of players.
He controlled his team. Mayo has no control and they are undisciplined on and off the field

I'm going to need to see qualifications for this post....sir

but some successful coaches have had similar rookie years.

Similar as far as record.

Name one in the modern era who has displayed this type of inept coaching performance from handling media, control of players, walking back comments, feel for game situations, lack of in game adjustments, having players say other players are quitting, season long regression and on and on.

I'm interested who you name???

As a sane fan, I re-read the entire thing that he said. Contextually it makes sense. But when you just take that quote out it looks real bad.

Objectively speaking, what he says might be right, but in current context when you are losing a lot , more humility might be needed. Trying to rationalize it, is probably the root cause of the issue and the fact that he did not acknowledge the problems in a Prelude makes it seem he is skirting responsibilities or ownership like mayo. The same statement issued in beginning of season or 4 months after a losing season might be interpreted differently. Now when all hell is on fire, the sane thing to do would be to zipper up. Tip your hat to Andrews for his response.

The actual wording is below

There’s a reason why they’re fans. Everybody can say what they think we should be doing, but in the long end they’re not qualified to do what Mayo is doing or whatever the Krafts are doing,” Tavai said on “The Greg Hill Show.” “They’re fans, I appreciate them at times, but sometimes they just gotta know their place and just understand that it’s a work in progress. Rome wasn’t built in one day.”

BB also intervened when JJ and MP struggled. Mayo doesn't seem to be doing much to help Covington.

Some of these guys don't get it...
Football is expensive ENTERTAINMENT, that is WHY these whinebags get paid so handsomely to play a ****in' GAME.
When said ENTERTAINMENT is CONTINUOUSLY fkn HORRIBLE, the actors take heat, but the Director of the Play gets drilled.
He's the fkn Director, show some fkn direction.

What, is this clown new?

The most impactful undertaking that the fans can accomplish on Sunday is not to boo - but rather, simply not show up.
That would include not giving or selling the tickets to somebody else (unless perhaps to Bills fans).

Doing so would provide the figuratively loudest statement possible.

Calling out a mob is a pretty ridiculous thing to do and clearly just turns them on you.

Pretty dumb thing to do but I don't mind him attempting to get his teammates back or in this case his coaches back.

And he's one of the few guys on the team who is actually good enough to want back let's not give up on him because of this.

I would rather have Jordan Richards back. At least that bum didn't run his mouth.

I paid for my seats already and there's a chance I get to see another pass from Maye like the ones we saw to Boutte or Pop so I'm going to go see it.

like many have said - vote with your feet. I canceled my youtubeTV a month ago. I only got it to watch the patriots, but no longer going to pay $72/month to watch the garbage product on the field....

Mayo was supposed to be a "player's coach." We now know what that means. He is good at feeding all the entitled little brats. That is what the WR room has become, Godchaux has shown, and why uncharacteristic player statements come from this team. Rather than earning the win, they believe the effort they put forth entitles them to it. The team is not hungry enough to win, and the head coach is as dumb as a rock. It would be totally different if we saw May coaching from the sideline rather than looking lost. Remember the Vrabel vs Belichick penalty duel to kill the clock? That is coaching at its finest. Mayo could never do that.

The only way to change it is to speak Bob Kraft's love language - $$$. Cancel season tickets. Stop attending games. Make merch purchases fall. Take money out of Kraft's pocket and he will listen.

Is this the type of “team culture” we want to keep?

The relevant quote: "There's a reason they're fans. Everybody can say what they think we should be doing. They're not qualified to be doing what Mayo is doing or the Krafts are doing or whatever. They're fans. I appreciate them at times, but sometimes they just gotta know their place..."

And he can go **** himself. The lack of self-awareness is mind blowing.
Lets think about this....
No Fans = No free college education
No Free College Education i.e. Scholarship = No College Football being played by 99% of these kids
No College Football = No NFL Career

No Fans = No NFL
No NFL = Unable to play a game for millions of dollars
Unable to play a game for Millions of dollars = Getting a regular job where no one gives a **** about your job performance except your boss.

So with all sincerity Mr. Tavai you can go shove a John Holmes sized bildo up your ass! Only one person needs to know their place here. And it is you. Shut the **** up and play football!

I put my tickets up for sale for $60 each. I would be shocked anybody buys them. Nobody is going to that game
