He's right but publicly complaining that fans should act like civil human beings towards players and coaches is a losing battle. It's normalized for people to turn the part of their brains off that makes them not act like a rude POS when they're dealing with professional athletes. It isn't going to change for this Tavai or anyone on this team and he'll only make it worse by complaining about it like this.

No he is 100% wrong. The fans have every right to express dis pleasure with a poorly performing team. He is supposed to be a professional and understand this. Only exception is that violent behavior or racist comments are over the line

I am wondering what comes of this. Every outlet and reporter is picking this up. It's catching like wildfire. It will be the top story until gameday which is in 48 hours. Will someone like Mayo, or Maye, come out and say something about it? Will they just ignore it like it didn't happen and deal with the consequences during the game?

This is the thing about Bill I miss the most. His policies of putting guardrails around what players should/should not say. He knew damn well some players are competent with the media and others lacking in the necessary sophistication and savvy to filter what they think. This saves neanderthals like Tavai from saying moronic things like this.

Mayo's policy of allowing players to have "voices" and enabling them to speak their minds isn't always in the organization's best interests- especially when you have unsophisticated players like Tavai calling out the fans.

This cannot make Kraft happy all. It's one thing for the team to suck. It's another for players to call out the fans for letting them know they suck.

At least Godchaux was measured and thoughtful in his comments about the booing/fire Mayo. I was ok with that.

I mean, Bob Kraft always has said that he is an owner but also a fan, and talks about how he used to sit in the bleachers. Should he "know his place" also and just sit down and shut up? I guess he should have never bought the team, because he was just a lowly pitiful fan.

Hate to sound like a grumpy old man here but this coach and these players are resembling some of our Gen Z employees. Only work the minimum amount and are hyper sensitive to criticism. Not sure this management style works with a football team. Not sure the old school techniques work either though.

I agree with Tavai. If you've listened to him on radio he's a thoughtful articulate guy. And he's lived through the same type of season before with the Lions so he's got some cred on this.

Fans can obviously boo but I think it crosses a line when they start chanting Fire Mayo. It's not much different than F*** Kyrie, which was way over the top. We don't have to act like Philly or NY fans. It's the media ginning up the fan base 24-7 that's behind this. I'm not pleased by Mayo's performance but some successful coaches have had similar rookie years. At this point I'm more down on Wolf than Mayo.
