[Mod Edit] MusketFire article says Vrabel might coach OSU based on Orlovsky smile

I don’t want Josh MacDaniels and a return to the Erhardt-Perkins offense.
That's my worry too. It sounds good on paper but that is a completely difference offense to what we are running now. I dont know how well Drake fits that scheme

This is simply a flat out lie.
Vrabel coached Tennesse 6 years 2018-2023.
He had an All pro punter once
He had an all pro RB once
He had an all pro S once

3 players in 6 years, one a punter, is not all pros at every single level.

All Pro and Pro Bowl. ****ing read you single brain cell organism.

During Vrabel's Tenure when he was making the playoffs
-Tannehill won a Pro Bowl
-Derrick Henry won an All Pro and Pro Bowls
-Jurrell Casey was a Pro Bowler.
-P Brett Kurn won a Pro Bowl
-AJ Brown was a Pro Bowler and consensus top 5 WR
-Kevin Byard won a Pro Bowl and an All Pro
-Jeffrey Simmons got a Pro Bowl and an All Pro
-Roger Saffold got a Pro Bowl
-Harold Landry got a Pro Bowl

Those are the three years Vrabel won playoffs and which players got them in between. So if you do the math, he had a Pro Bowl caliber QB, an All Pro best in the league RB, a Pro Bowl consensus top 5 WR, a Pro Bowl caliber guard, an All Pro caliber End and an All Pro Caliber free safety, and a Pro bowl caliber linebacker.

Tannehill before getting to Tennessee? Average at best in Miami. Gets to Ten with Vrabel, career year, THANK YOU for making my point!

this is about rebuilding the team with an experienced coach who has won in this league versus a guy who is clearly in over his head. I would trust Vrabel 1000% to be better prepared to do the job than Mayo is.
Or Tanny just had much better talent around him and it's easier to play well when Henry is the hand off and Brown is always open with a top 10 line. Probably easier for Vrabel to coach that team to right...

any coach? good grief charlie brown. That team under performed in the three seasons leading up to them hiring Vrabel.

"more buttoned up on having his team organized" THAT IS THE POINT!
And once he lost the talent he was a 6 win coach on a team that was BETTER than the current Patriots roster.

You still should probably explain why he can't win when the team isn't loaded considering you want him to be the big coach to turn around one of the least talented rosters in the league.

Bowles 8-9 with (with tom Brady) 9-8, 8-6, he was 4-6 then played Carolina, the giants and the raiders to get to 7-6
Who in the world thinks he looks great?
His team is first in their division and the remaining 3 games are

-The 6-8 Cowboys
-The 3-11 Panthers
-The 5-9 Saints

They are going to most likely get double digit wins and a playoff berth. Which is a very good year for Bowles.

so, he loses talent, and his teams don't win... shocking. Maybe the shift in the titans front office lead to that?

Why he can't win when his team is loaded with talent? They did win. 11 and the 12 wins in consecutive years. Are you asking why he didn't win the super bowl? thats a different question. They ran into a couple of buzzsaws in the ravens and chiefs... teams with ostensibly more talent.

Or do you just look at those years and say "nah, not going to count them cuz it completely negates the nebulous argument i'm trying to make"

Josh didn't tun EP much with Cam Newton. Josh knows how to vary things. Josh and TB ran the EP system. Brady took a lot of EP to Tampa. Josh will adjust with Maye like he did with Cam and Mac.

No I'm asking you directly why he only won 6 games his last season when his team was much better than ours? We do not have talent on this roster. You are getting much closer to Vrabel's last year than the years he won playoff games.

Any coach can win with a loaded roster.

I’m pretty sure the Bengals brought them down. But overall I do believe Vrabel would be a better coach for the Patriots.

That is far from what you said. Having one time pro bowlers spread across the roster over 6 years is not
Again he had a loaded team when he did that with Pro Bowlers and All Pros at every single level.
When was Simmons all pro?

If you could take the best year of every player out of the 6 years he coached I’m sure he would have won a sb but real life doesn’t work like that.

Good coaches are going to have bad seasons for a variety of reasons, and a drop off in quarterback play is usually one of the biggest ones. Overall Veabel did a good job imo.

Once again picking and choosing what you want to engage with to play games. Another argument you lose and have to be ignored for.

You just said he looks great and now you are saying he is a handicap “very good year FOR BOWLES”

Dude you have no concern about the validity of what you say. It’s just all sensationalism to hear yourself talk. Then you make up bs to back it up.
It’s funny to watch

Par for the course. You post BS sensationalism get called out, throw more bs then run away like a little girl.
Like clockwork.

If his only success is on incredibly loaded teams and he is trash when the team starts losing worldclass talent, you have to question that.

Vrabel walks on this team he is going to be in the worst situation of his career. Worse than when he won 6 games. How much better do you think he is going to do?

His teams were not loaded, you are lying.

Again he had a loaded team when he did that with Pro Bowlers and All Pros at every single level. Any coach could do that. Mayo has the worst roster in the league and somehow has 3 wins.

I won't say Vrabel isn't better than Mayo as a I think Vrabel is more buttoned up on having his team organized. But that's about as far as it goes. Vrabel is a guy that coaches just about to the talent level of his team. His last season he won 6 games. His roster that year was still better that ours currently.

You can't just look at things in a vacuum. His only time winning playoff games was 5 years ago. He never won playoff games in any season since.
That’s why a team like Bengals or even the Cowboys is ideal for Vrabel. They have a foundation. We don’t. There’s a reason why he hasn’t been successful at all the last couple of seasons and why he was fired.

No question he’s an upgrade over Mayo but that’s about it. I’m afraid lots of fans will be disappointed in the outcome if Vrabel ends up here.

Loaded? more like "unloaded" roster

2022
because they started josh dobbs as qb?
because the interim GM they stuck him with drafted treylon burkes and malik willis?
because they traded away aj brown?
2023
because teams could load the box vs travis henry? because of the qb's they had drafted in 2022 & 2023
the new gm drafted will levis?
they fired basically the entire offensive staff?

take your pick

You listed two years he didn't make the playoffs and had losing records.

The only 3 years he ever won the team was loaded to the gills. If that's what he needs to go one and done twice and only win playoffs in one years, then he's not the coach for this team

He's mentioned by Patriots fans because they know who he is
