Correct but a unmitigated disaster dumpster fire?
If I'm Drake Maye I'm getting out of NE asap. The only thing that would change that for me would be if the Krafts sold the team. I think they're at the root of the problems with this team.

I think the hit piece documentary really backfired on the Krafts. They exposed themselves by trying to get credit for the team's success while making Bill look bad. It didn't work and if anything did the opposite by making Bill a sympathetic figure.

I think if they corrected their mistake this year and hired competent coaching, and surround him with some talent, he would probably become comfortable. They’re a little too meddlesome right now, but part of that has to be due to hiring a coach that has no idea how to do anything.

I thought that we banned posts containing links to Musketfire. Nobody should be reading that trash site and definitely shouldn’t be spreading their trash.

Vrabel stepping in now was a hard pull from the outset.

First off, he would be shooting Mayo out of the saddle. I'm not aware of the relationship between Mayo and Vrabel, but I will take a guess and assume its good. Secondly, it would be like Vrabel spitting in BBs face after the way the Kraft's have treated BB post firing. So, let the Kraft's sleep in the bed that they've made together. Thunder has passed the proverbial torch to Jonathan so he can lead moving forward.

I remember posters here were referring to the Bucs coaches as the 3 stooges. Then they got the right players in 2020 and won.

When the Pats get better players they'll win more, no matter who's coaching.
Brady was the HC on the Tampa offense.

And your best defense is a great offense.

That’s a terrible site, ignore it

Thunder is busy dancing the night away while the Pats headquarters burns.

Vrabel although an obvious upgrade over Mayo would just be another guy with Patriots ties hired without going thru a detailed coach and GM search and learning how other organizations are operating and hearing people's ideas for the future.

The Patriots are a franchise who have never modernized and never looked outside their own building for coaches for so long, an interview process without a pre-determined outcome of who's being hired is so badly needed.

Arians was pretty established by that point and good. Bowles is a good DC. Leagues above our current trio, IMO. But most definitely a downgrade from Brady's last coaching staff before the Bucs.

Your young QB not re-upping is a nightmare scenario. That would be a massive embarassment and this franchise is headed in that direction.

Huh?

Drake Maye is a rookie. His contract runs 4 more years, and then they could franchise him. That’s 5 more seasons at a minimum, and the likehood of top young QB’s not resigning with their team is almost if not non existent. In fact go ahead and try to name one who hasn’t?

He's a lot better than what we currently have in place here. Despite "not having won anything" he has a winning record, took his team to the playoffs three years in a row, including the afccg... Would be thrilled if he were on the sidelines here
Again he had a loaded team when he did that with Pro Bowlers and All Pros at every single level. Any coach could do that. Mayo has the worst roster in the league and somehow has 3 wins.

I won't say Vrabel isn't better than Mayo as a I think Vrabel is more buttoned up on having his team organized. But that's about as far as it goes. Vrabel is a guy that coaches just about to the talent level of his team. His last season he won 6 games. His roster that year was still better that ours currently.

You can't just look at things in a vacuum. His only time winning playoff games was 5 years ago. He never won playoff games in any season since.

Buckeyes won yesterday and are 2.5 point favorites vs Oregon.
My estimate is if they lose to Oregon it’s 50/50 whether Day is fired and Vrabel is the front runner, but if the best Oregon he keeps his job.
Some Buckeye fans believe it’s national championship or the door.

Hes got a real qb to work with here. the biggest hurdle has been jumped. adding a coach who knows what he is doing is a bigger upgrade than what you imply.

There is no question about it - Its a clear step up.
When Vrabel was winning playoff games and making the playoffs look how Tannehill was playing...

I'll save you the trouble

Maye is a first year QB. He's doing great, but we've seen plenty of guys who looked good in year one fall completely off or regress to a mean when teams got tape on them and they weren't some new quantity. So acting like Maye's going to consistently play better than Tannehill when he was putting up legit numbers on talented rosters is a stretch.

And we simply do not even have anywhere close to the talent of those teams.

We used to **** on Bowles relentlessly when he coached the Jets. Now he looks great with the right roster.

This is simply a flat out lie.
Vrabel coached Tennesse 6 years 2018-2023.
He had an All pro punter once
He had an all pro RB once
He had an all pro S once

3 players in 6 years, one a punter, is not all pros at every single level.

Tannehill before getting to Tennessee? Average at best in Miami. Gets to Ten with Vrabel, career year, THANK YOU for making my point!

this is about rebuilding the team with an experienced coach who has won in this league versus a guy who is clearly in over his head. I would trust Vrabel 1000% to be better prepared to do the job than Mayo is.

any coach? good grief charlie brown. That team under performed in the three seasons leading up to them hiring Vrabel.

"more buttoned up on having his team organized" THAT IS THE POINT!

Bowles 8-9 with (with tom Brady) 9-8, 8-6, he was 4-6 then played Carolina, the giants and the raiders to get to 7-6
Who in the world thinks he looks great?
