[Mod Edit] MusketFire article says Vrabel might coach OSU based on Orlovsky smile

Nothing anywhere in this article says anything about Vrabel going to the Bears.

It says that the author thinks he will go to Ohio State University, and is basing that off of Dan Orlovsky smiling while talking to Pat McAfee a week ago.

McDaniels is not mentioned anywhere.

Uh, okay.
Musketfire gonna musketfire

I’ve edited the title… for future reference the original title was “Vrabel and McDaniels already agreed to Bears job?” But sourced article says nothing about the Bears whatsoever, nor McDaniels, nor that Vrabel has actually accepted any job anywhere, and is based on Pat McAfee talking to Dan Orlovsky a week ago and Orlovsky “smirking”

Telling me the 3 Stooges are coming back doesn’t help pull me out of the misery.

Well, if it's any better, the 3 Stooges will no longer have their First Year Invulnerability and thereby are highly suspectable to "The Hot Seat", and therefore can be fired depending on performance.

I hope.

It would be negligence if they aren’t fired this off season.

Love the Drake Fake News
This is basically the same as back when Bill going to NC was a rumor, posting that story but then making the title “Belichick and McDaniels to Philadelphia already a done deal?” Makes no sense…

Mayo's been a rookie coach. It's very rare for a first year coach, who is typically coming into a bad situation (hence why they're a rookie coach), to have success.

Correct but a unmitigated disaster dumpster fire?

It wasn’t a bad situation on defense.

This thread is an unmitigated dumpster fire.
The crap shoot that is any inexperienced 1st year HC, a weak staff and a **** roster qualify as mitigating circumstances. Mayo may be a dumpster fire as a head coach but he's definitely not an unmitigated one.

Antonio Pierce is another 1st year HC promoted from Linebackers Coach who got the job simply because players really like him. That one isn’t currently going very well either.

Vrabel hasn’t won anything in Tennessee and showed there he isn’t exactly Vince Lombardi when his team is lousy… which the Patriots are right now. I’m fine with them looking elsewhere.
He's a lot better than what we currently have in place here. Despite "not having won anything" he has a winning record, took his team to the playoffs three years in a row, including the afccg... Would be thrilled if he were on the sidelines here

That’s when his team had an offensive foundation and identity in place. Guys like prime Derrick Henry, Tannehill, AJ Brown, Corey Davis. We don’t have that and his track record once that foundation crumbled was a lot less successful.

Yeah he’s an upgrade but that’s a very low bar to step over. He’d be a lot better off coaching a team like the Bengals or even the Cowboys not the Pats imo.

Hes got a real qb to work with here. the biggest hurdle has been jumped. adding a coach who knows what he is doing is a bigger upgrade than what you imply.

There is no question about it - Its a clear step up.

The stooges weren’t the same without curly. Would we still suck without our curly? Do better with a Shemp?

The Bears are probably hoping to hire Ben Johnson. Vrabel had a bad experience with office politics in Tennessee & the situation in Chicago is even more dysfunctional.

It’s just as likely Orlovsky is referring to New England as Chicago
I always wondered why Dan Orlovsky is considered an expert when he wasn't much of a pro QB. It seems like there are plenty of other great options to choose from. Then I remembered something I read a few years ago but didn't confirm, that Dan Orlovsky's dad was the best man at Archie Manning's wedding. That would make Dan part of the NYFL's royal family and would explain why he got the great gig.

I can't stand Orlovsky, I'd rather he was stocking shelves overnight at Market Basket than talking about football, he sucked when he played, why do people listen to that fkn clown?
Great question.

I remember posters here were referring to the Bucs coaches as the 3 stooges. Then they got the right players in 2020 and won.

When the Pats get better players they'll win more, no matter who's coaching.
