Does anyone think there is a chance Mayo is one and done?

Breer of all people coming out and saying Mayo is now suddenly on the hot seat is definitely a big change. “I haven’t heard a comment like that from a head coach in 20 years”. Not a good look.

I am hoping he’s changed his tune because the Krafts have changed their tune.
At the very least he is reading the tea leaves. That video of Jonathan taking notes was pretty clear and compelling.

Mayo's been out front taking the heat but the problems run deeper than Mayo. He was handed a crap roster Vince Lombardi couldn't win with and he's not helping himself in pressers. They need to do make a lot of changes next year.

"The roster" does not excuse Mayo's lack of attention to detail, poor situational awareness or failure to instill discipline. Nor does it absolve his demonstrated inability to make needed adjustments during/between games. He simply is not HC material.

Not just Mayo. The entire building. Scouts, GM, Glazer etc etc. All gone. Let a new coach bring in his own people.

Robyn Glaser will survive. She will be the one that seals Mayo’s demise. She’s close enough to see his true performance and she’s smart enough to know that if she doesn’t axe him it’ll be her neck on the block if he doesn’t succeed.

Never... Mayo's staying per Robert Krafty...
You might be right. But as I've said before, if not every copy of the massage parlor tapes were destroyed (as ordered by that judge), and if Kraft has these or other problems still kept in the closet, a DEI hire like Mayo as a public relations insurance would make sense. It just seems like a complete PR campaign to hire and keep a guy that has no business leading a team. And I can't think of any reason to keep Mayo unless Kraft feels that he still needs DEI hiring to help his image in some way.

All this and add the fact he throws everyone under the bus in front of the media. Walks it back and then chuckles about it. You have all the evidence you need.

For Mayo to be worth keeping around for year 2 there had to be something from him that showed a talent for the role. I've seen nothing. Do not waste another year of the talented kid. Cut bait with coaching staff and front office. And do it now.

All he does is spew stupid corporate jargon. It’s so annoying the guy is clueless
And it's the kind of stuff that even in the corporate world is seen as BS by those who actually get things done. It's the kind of vacuous twaddle spewed by the hangers-on and wannabes who don't understand how things really work.

I’ve already decided that if they bring Mayo back next year then I won’t bother watching the games. I wonder how many others will feel the same.

reading they cancelled all meetings today?

seems kind of odd

I was listening to Taylor Kyles and Mike Kladkim's podcast yesterday and they were making the point that it's clear Mayo hasn't lost the locker room. Players are blaming themselves for the problems rather than the coaches. They both think Mayo's AVP statement was nothing and that it's doubtful Kraft moves on from Mayo.

Same here. I'm resigned to just waiting it out until RK gets a clue, turns control over, or sells. He's flying this plane into a mountain, convinced that there is no mountain in the way. There's no saving the situation with RK in control in his current frame of mind.

I've said that over the years for one reason or another but come Sunday I just can't not check it out.

Yeah, I'll watch for Maye. These games are already way more entertaining than the ones last season.

And Ben Coates said the same thing about playing under Pete Carroll after playing under Bill Parcells.

They didn’t win under Carroll, but at least they were happier as they counted their millions.

They can blame themselves, but the coaches are not providing the structure they need for success.

And the Carroll Pats devolved into a herd of cats much like we have now.

“I haven’t heard a comment like that from a head coach in 20 years” is something you could say about at least one weekly Mayo comment. And there is always at least one other comment that is unlike anything you've ever heard from a head coach before.
