Jacksonville has Tennessee and the raiders left. I wouldn't worry about them too much.

The Patriots have 18 games left on the schedule where their opponent is playing another opponent that we didn't play. Meaning that's 18 more opportunities for them to go down on the strength of schedule.

I think we'll be all right. But even if Jacksonville passed us they're not going to pick a quarterback anyway so it's fine. Obviously we're not picking a quarterback either but if we're sitting at 3 or 4 And there's still the number two quarterback in the draft out there someone might throw us a haul. Unless we win a game there's no way we're picking outside the top four.

Im thinking its better that if teams do leapfrog us, they will be teams who WANT a qb. But youre right about jax’s schedule they should win at least one more. Best case scenario they do and its not the raiders game. Theres a clear path to #2 there. Giants got #1 sealed up imo, id be shocked to see them win another. All good if they are taking shadeur though

I'm not actually all that worried about it at this point. As long as we don't win any games we are going to get a stud.

One had to wonder what was really going on last year when we were told Mayo was really running the defense with Steve only calling the plays. And why wasn't Steve offered the DC job?
I wouldn't want to stay in an organization that just fired my father who was a 6 time Super Bowl winning HC.

He's currently making a name for himself in Washington.

It would also scream don't trust Kraft.

If he fires Mayo after 1 season then anybody is fair game.
Kraft would have to put his ego aside and admit he was completely wrong about Mayo.
As a good businessman, Kraft should recognize the concept of a sunk cost. Sometimes, it's best to walk away from a bad decision.

Jacksonville needs to win one im thinking. They are creeping pretty close to us in sos and ours will go up alot the last 3 weeks while they have a weaker schedule left. Possibly carolina too

The last 3 games and teams are already included in the strength of schedule

Thanks, i did not know that. Guessing we are safe then as the variance factor could actually work in our favor if anything. We played so many bad teams that are going to keep that # from moving up too much.

Might as well concede….they will lose by college numbers
Seeing Pats as +13 underdogs right now in Buffalo. Thought it would be more like that 2007 Pats vs Eagles game…

Not discounting your post, but curious where did you see this?
It was a tweet from a patriots writer. Sorry I don’t remember who.

How pathetic would it be that the raiders wouldn't have any problem moving on from their coach in back to back years when they realize it's not working but the Patriots are too stubborn to admit when they've made a historic error?
Very pathetic

Problem is is the friendship Kraft has with Mayo and how smart he thought he was being making him a HC in waiting and snatching him before the rest of the league did.
Now he has to look in the mirror and say I was wrong and I’m willing to lose this relationship with Mayo and his family over it.
Not to mention Mayo will never get another HC or DC position in the NFL is he is fired season 1.

However Krafts number 1 obligation is to the team and number 2 is to the fans in this situation.
Not to mention the money he’s losing not being in the playoffs nor nationally televised games.

My understanding is that Mayo ran the meeting room while SB and his dad did the game planning. Mayo never was a full DC.

Someone who follows these rankings can correct or confirm but according to the herald the patriots defense is ranked dead last DVOA

I will never understand how they decided that last year was terrible and Bill needed to be fired and then promoted the people who worked for him.
They fired a guy with 8 Super Bowl rings for a HC that had never been a real coordinator, an OC who had never called plays, a DC who had never called plays and a GM who had never drafted anybody. Some. Fn rebuild. Think about how dreadful that is. A complete train wreck. Bob should sell.

Its not just that the team is 3-11, that was expected

Its that the team is not showing signs of improvement and are actually getting worse.

I am sure they can find a better and more experienced coaching staff.

Fix your mistake Bob before we are into year 6 of the rebuild with no progress in sight
