OT: ESPNews breaking...Tuna to Falcons?

I'd love to see him quit on another team. After he left the Giants he couldn't get it done in NE and quit, couldn't get it done for the Jets and quit, couldn't get it done in Dallas and quit... I'd love to add the Falcons to the list of teams he quit on.

Good coach, but an impatient quitter.

Couldn't get it done is a little harsh...Each team he left was far better than when he inherited them.

Why can't the man just retire? He must need the money.

They sure were, but he's too impatient to get a team all the way. He gets them to the playoffs and if he can't win it all within 3 or 4 years he quits.

Meh I say he is a good fit for situation Falcons are in. One thing he is known for is he doesn't take crap from anyone nor does he tolerate it. I'm sure he'll put his foot down on locker room cancers and clean out the house. I'd say given his track record, he'll make Falcons respectable in 2 years and playoff contender in year 3. I think he is an a-hole but man knows football.

True... he'll get them back to respectability and then quit. Can you imagine if Mike Vick got re-enstated to the NFL while the Tuna was the coach in Atlanta? That would be very interesting indeed...

I think Vick's days in Atlanta are done.

Tuna won't be the coach btw. Just vice-president and GM. I don't think he has it in him to coach the game anymore. He is pretty old. There are speculations that may be he'll get Chad Pennington after drafting a rookie qb like he did in Dallas with Bledsoe.

Get rid of all the loud mouthed punk players first.

IE: D-Hall.

For cheap... and to a former DC and Assistant Head Coach who has all the capability to turn the ass into a very, very good player.

He is exactly what the Falcons or Dolphins need. He takes horrible teams and makes them good. Has a bit of problem taking them from good to great. But the man is an expert at horrible to good.

He also is great at selecting great coaching talent. I don't know if I would want him to be my HC, but I would want him selecting my HC.

Matt Ryan?/ If he does and they pick before the Pats ,at least it will be one
less offensive player, leaving all the top notch defensive players for the Pats to choose from, IF they stay at #4/#5 or wherever they end up...

Do you think he will poach off our roster at all?
You know Mcdaniels as head coach?
Johnson as D coordinator things like that?
I surely hope not hopefully for revenge he poaches off of Mangina's staff or Dallas's.
I'm calling it now either Garret or Mcdaniels will be the head coach of the Falcons.
He didn't do that when he took the Cowboys job - why would you think he would now? BTW BB's assistants or former assistants haven't proven themselves, as a group, to be any better bets than any other NFL assistants. Magnini is 3-11 in year 2. Romeo didn't win until his 3rd year. Saban went down in an inglorious implosion in Miami. And, unlike Woody Johnson (funniest name in the world!), I don't think Tuna holds a grudge against BB or Mr. Kraft anymore. He usually has nice things to say about them as an analyst.

I was out with the a bunch of Atlanta based ATF guys the other day and they were saying that the Falcons were a bunch of "thugs" and making jokes that the team name should be the "ghetto birds".

The Falcons are in serious trouble, they don't sell out, and their fan base is iffy at best. Something like half the people that live in Atlanta, where not born there.

Tuna will most likely poach from the Dallas staff, before he gets to the Pats. Look for him to get Jason Garrett (the Dallas OC) as his HC. He will steal some "patriot type players" in drafts and Free Agency. The NFC South sucks, I think this year is like the 5th year in a row that the team that finished last in the division the year before (Tampa) is going to win the division.

I do see him drafting Matt Ryan, unless he has a shot at Dorsey from LSU.

He turned down the Falcons to talk to the Dolphins.

doesnt look like he's turning anyone down yet. looks like hes gonna play the two against each other to get the best deal. hes not a dumb man.

Parcells is now the biggest football scumbag out there

1) he does great with the giants, then retires (Belichick DC)

2) Comes to NE does good to great (Belichick DC)

3) Screws NE by taking the Jets job before playing the Superbowl

4) Does good with the Jets with Belichick as DC, but screws the team by putting them in cap and player hell and tries to dump the team on Belichick and retires

5) Screws the Buccaneers by telling them he won't take the HC job while they have Dungy. Buccaneers fire Dungy and Parcells tells them "I never said I would take the job", which leave the Bucs out to dry.

6) takes the Cowboy job and does ok (NO Belichick). And retires before the team really turns around and if it wasn't for Wade Phillips, that team would be a mess.

7) Now is playing the Falcons against the Dolphins and ESPN is stroking his ego.

I say here and now what ever team he decides to take over, and I mean TAKE OVER, he'll leave the team on the verge of disaster, and the blame will be put on whoever takes his place.

Granted the Falcons and Dolphins are a mess right now, but any good football person could turn those teams around in a couple of years, they can't reall get worse.
