No. I like our chances in OT. We had the better QB.

Problem was the soft D. Can’t stop the run? That is a firing offense. Demarcus Covington, please explain.
Ludacris is a terrible D coordinator. Run defense was ugh

Most of the other teams in the top 10-ish of the draft need QBs pretty bad and may start a bidding war for Ward or Sanders. So you’d only be trading down a few spots and probably picking up their next couple 1sts and also their 2nd in 2025 too which is a borderline 1st. You’d still be able to get a true WR1 with your new 1st rounder and could trade up with one of your high 2nds into the late 1st for a tackle. Then focus on defense with your other picks, and enjoy having two firsts the next couple years
This. The bidding war is what I want for NE. And if even one of those two QBs is available when the Patriots pick, I’d love for them to accumulate high picks and rebuild properly.

If the complete the winning formula by canning Mayo and his staff in a few weeks then I can agree with you.
Can Wolf too. He wasted a high 2nd on N’Keal Harry 2.0.

This isn't a strong QB draft. You aren't going to be able to trade down far and get bailed out by the teams in front of you reaching for a QB. It's likely there's one maybe 2 QB's that will be drafted high and then people will just take BPA and wait for later rounds

Never underestimate how far desperate teams will go to acquire a QB they’ve fallen in love with.

Get the first overall pick while showing Maye is good, fire Mayo and crew, attract a good offensive HC who wants to work with Maye, spend tons of cash on offensive and defensive pieces in free agency, trade the 1st overall pick for a nice sum with whoever wants the top QB.

You’d definitely be able to turn this team into a good unit fast that way. Might even be able to get a guy like Ben Johnson.
The more likely thing is getting a top 5 pick and getting maye a real OC. A imagination driven offensive mind. I'd even take stefanski when he gets canned.

Never underestimate teams needing a QB to do stupid things.

This team needs talent at the skill position . Travis Hunter makes sense. I think you have three QBs expected to coming he too ten next year. If somebody wants to give you another top ten pick, and a first next year though you do it/. There’s plenty of needs

That is what people say almost every year and they tend to be wrong. QBs will always get you more picks and there will be the surprise that shoots up like Daniels last year.

Why the hell would you take the guy who had to give up play calling duties?

I'm most worried about 2 things.

1. No free safety on this team.

2. AVP. The announcers talked about the Titans sending LBs into the lanes and attacking our OL. You're telling me we don't have a RB leaking out or a WR in the slot sitting just past where their LBs attack?

It took them until the last drive and OT to figure that out, as finally Rham leaked out of the backfield.

When they are attacking your OL with no fear, you counter that by taking advantage of the space they vacate.

2 years ago Rham caught a million passes.

Hey AVP, what is the counter for the Titans abandoning the space 5 yards in the middle?

Instead you dial up only throws on the boundary or else WR screens.

This is just a badly designed offense.
Curran made a great point on post game live...

Said the front office better understand what they have in Drake and do everything they can to surround him with talent and better offensive coaching.

Trade away Dugger and Godchaux for nice picks, trade for Metcalf to get Maye a real WR1. Your offense would be good enough to produce points your defense would be pretty bad and you probably still lose. But you’d attract a good offensive HC who wouldn’t need to add TOO much to the offensive side, and can hire a quality DC and let the front office build up that side with free agents and picks.

No one shoukd care that this game was a loss. Maye is learning with each game and improving.
The loss means nothing
Over half of this board was saying he shouldn’t play when others were saying exactly this.
