So, how you feeling about our draft class?

One of the biggest problems drafting players is that they are not properly prepared to
move on to the NFL ...it is worse than ever ... all phases of the game ... reason why more than ever why it's a crap shoot.
Baker? ... But definitely Thornton ... he hasn't a clue how to run proper routes was not ready may never be ready.

Flip side you take a player like Mac Jones because he was properly prepared ... but where did it get us?
These players we drafted it takes 3 years was always said ... now fans expect 1st year ... and I think why?
This is where Wolf comes in ... he absolutely should have signed FA's to play in front of every draft pick and mentor.
Was done back in the days when rookies were rookies and treated as such but were and had time to be mentored.
Who on the team is capable of mentoring anybody ... we only have a few ... that's a huge problem.

As an aside ... Polk should be inactive tomorrow ... Jerod needs to send stronger messages ... because we need Polk going forward.

We can only hope, but I highly doubt it will happen. Mayo is player friendly.

It is Wolf, not Wolfe, BTW.

LOL at those who thought this was a good draft; or that last year was a good draft too.

They both sucked.

One good player per draft will Not save your jobs.

Meet the New boss (for one more year); same as the Old boss.

I suppose that you will whine over the 2023 draft for years. You should form a club. I don't think that many members will sign on.

For you, anything less that drafting your top 7 picks at their various positions is a failure.

For most of us, we had a fine draft: Gonzo, White, Mapu, Boutte, Beringer and Douglas.
======================
SIX solid picks, that will likely contribute for 4 years.

Sow did start for a year.

Yes, Jake might even be an OK backup center, but probably not.

Our UDFA, Pettus, could be a #4 safety for four years, or not.

Marty McPoo solid? Dude Sucks. And have you seen Keion White play this season? Dumber than a bag of dirt, or one selfish mother****er…

Jake the Latest Fake Sucks too.

Dell Pettis is NOT an NFL player.

And Special Teamers don’t count.

I gave your post a thumbs down for calling a fellow Yellow Jacket dumber than a bag of dirt. Other than that blasphemy, I agree 100%

Well we took him in the 4th round. From what I've seen on him it's just maturity issues that's dropped his draft stock. He's a pro now. Let's let allow him to mature and learn how to become a great NFL WR. He has all the tools or he wouldn't be in the league... well then again vederian Lowe is in the league too. LOL so you have a good point!
Baker is stupid and has bad hands. Guy can't pick up the playbook. He's going to be out of the league shortly.

Maye looks like he's got the physical tools and skills to be a legit NFL quarterback. Even if all the other picks are busts, it will be a success if Maye pans out.

Aside from Maye, this rookie class seemed to hit the rookie wall right out of the gate. A lot of guys that look like they’re not ready or just flat out dont belong. @condon84 is correct though. If Maye pans out, this draft will be remembered as a home run. Not gonna lie though, if this is the type of results we get from this class going forward, I’m going to be really worried about this teams future with Wolf and Co. at the helm. Terrible FA pickups and terrible drafts arent the way to go about building a championship level club.

I can excuse the lack of FA contributions because they're rolling over so much cap space. Tough to get impact players at the price level they shopped at. We'll see what they do with the rolled over cap space, but at least there's some rationalization there for underwhelming results. On the draft, there's no reason that they couldn't have a single positive-contributing player after Maye. That's just poor drafting so far, though we'll see how these guys pan out.

I would be much more concerned if we did what Mayo seem to want: to throw money a few top free agents, overpaying big-time because of the market being inflated by all the extra cap money, and also because folks didn't particularly want to come to a 4-win team with no quarterback.

I'm fine IF and ONLY IF, we spend the money in this next offseason (and perhaps even some in the next two weeks).

I still can't figure out how the 2023 draft was so good, and this one seems so bad. Sure, as a whole, if Maye is a success, then the draft is a success. However, it is not as if the teams stopped picking players after the 3rd pick and went to the nearest bar to celebrate.

Perhaps this was just a poor draft. Or perhaps, players will be better in their 2nd year.

Gonzalez, Keion White, Mapu, Douglas, Boutte, Baringer, maybe Jake Andrews.

Not a bad draft. A really good one, actually.

Ryland and Sow haven't worked out. But Ryland is out there winning football games.

Perhaps Sow would do a bit better if he were kept at RG where he developed for a full year before being moved to another position.

I think he played LG in college, to be fair. The scheme is also different. It always seemed he was a better scheme fit in the old system than the new West Coast-rooted scheme.

It kind of stinks because I liked what Sow showed last year, but not sure he's the best scheme fit here anymore if they want to move to the West Coast style offenses. And while I liked Sow, he wasn't good enough to be basking schematic decisions off of or anything. I'm afraid he might end up "wasted" here with our offensive scheme switch.

2022…Thornton over Pickens was extremely puzzling

Still don’t understand the 2023 draft. We had a historically weak offense the year before and pass up on really good talent (flowers, Addison) in the first to get a cornerback. Ok, defendable given C Gonzalez’s stature. However, I cannot fathom the decision to draft DE Keion White in the 2nd round with WR Jayden Reed still on the board. What a colossal disappointment

2024 Draft..after you draft Maye, why not take a shot trade back up in first to get him a Brian Thomas level weapon? Instead of waiting until round 2 to trade up and draft a WR with very mediocre looking film…sigh

Our draft management team continues to make blunder after blunder when it comes to drafting or failing to draft skillful offensive players and I wonder if our offense will ever get out of this funk. It’s incredibly boring to watch besides Maye.

I think it's because they forced the picks to be offense. There were probably defensive players they passed up because they were forcing the pick on a WR and the oline.

White was an awful pick with the offensive talent still available and the patriots being in dire need of actual talent on offense

The last two drafts are why Bill was fired and Mayo is lucky he isn't 0-7.

Not including Maye, I see posters naming the same players from the last two drafts over and over again who are mediocre at best. Pats haven't drafted game changers since Jamie Collins (Pro Bowl/2nd Team All Pro 2015) for a short period was a play making LB and blocking field goals. Remember they changed the rules because of him?

Statically, Gonzalez is having a solid season, but the passing game is worse.

White is irrelevant on the field and his claim to fame is his draft day face.

McPoo is that player in Madden that runs the opposite way of the play.

None of these guys are catalyst type players that have been drafted many...many years ago.
