PostGame Thread Patriots Lose to the Texans 41-21, Drop to 1-5

Coaching staff is terrible, far too many penalties and starting games looking completely unprepared.

Offensive play calling is so predictable we must of ran about 15 times on first down for about 20 yards, just wasting a down over and over.

Maye showed promise and clearly has talent but i'm worried about who's going to be coaching him.

Ryans and Mayo is like apples and oranges when it comes on Tom coaching.

A good debut by Maye with three TDs, but some costly plays against a great Texans team. Still, a lot to move forward with. Discuss.

Not mad at all. I feel rejuvenated as a fan. I feel like the future is bright in NE. The rest of the way is no longer about wins and losses it's letting Maye continue to do his thing. I can bet you be seasoned end we will be talking about him as a top 10 QB. He unlocked pop Douglas, boutee, side arm throw to Henry. So much to love about his performance. Against a top 5 defense. Maye is the real deal and all fans should be happy we have our QB.

That's two times this year already that Mayo found ZERO value in getting Drake a 2 minute hurry up offense drill at the end of the game.

Like dude, are you checked out? Ending the game with all 3 time outs with Drake in the red zone with those valuable reps to be had is dog ****.

The TD throw to Boutee was a perfect long ball, but most of his passes were off the mark.

The defense got scorched!

Mayo looks like he has no idea what is going on.

He did better considering the OL and some of our useless Wide Receivers Polk and Bourne.

Already a much better viewing experience. Maye had more TDS in one game then brisket had all year, 200+ yards passing, Missing the starting center, and starting RB.

Our wideouts actually got a chance to look like nfl players when maye was hitting them in stride in space, and on deep balls.

I don't expect us to win a lot of games, But I'd very much so rather watch us lose games where the team is ****ing battling, then whatever that dredge was they were trying to serve us weeks 3 4 and 5

That throw in the 4th qtr to Bouttee was a rope. Maye went through multiple progressions under pressure, and it looked like he was a pitcher in baseball throwing a fastball right down the middle.

Not many NFL QBs can do that.

On the other hand, you're picking at the very top of every round: 34, 68, 92.

You simply cannot blow it by picking Polk, Wallace and Robinson.

I'm thinking about replacing the OC over the summer and also the front office.

Speaking of Polk, he had zero catches but git hit in the hands a few times, hopefully it's one bad game.

Allen had bad foot mechanics that led to inaccurate throws early in his career.

The good news is that it is correctable and doesn’t have to be a permanent deficiency.

What's with Gonzo? It's like he's channeling Trent Brown and late Adalius Thomas. I hope he hears about it in the film room.

Polk needs to get with the program. The whole point of him being on the field is to actually, you know, CATCH, the ball.

Mapu looked good.

I knew halfway through season 1 that Mac wasn't that guy. He was serviceable, but he wasn't HIM. Year 2, sealed the deal and 3 just affirmed that.

Maye in one game, is HIM. Now he needs to keep developing and learning and growing. As some have said unlocking Pop, Boutte is huge. If Polk can start catching something then they might have something.

Sooo many dropped catches over that time period by Pats WRs for over 52 air yards. Quite sad, really.

Side arm throws have low release/arc. Going to be very susceptible to knock downs/ints. That being said, some QB's have found success with them here and there. Some argue it can wear out the arm faster, as well. They look cool as hell, though
