Didn’t we always compliment this team on the “bend don’t break” mentality? I don’t think the defense deserves props but they certainly weren’t the problem

I don’t think we ever complimented letting a terrible offense drive up and down the field.
We complemented containing good offenses by playing well in the red zone.

The defense faced the worst offense in football and should have produced 3 and outs all day.

That's ridiculous. Maye doesn't panic like a wet cat when the ball is snapped to him. He would have at least attempted passes past 4 yards before the 4th quarter. He would make the D defend the whole field.
Of course it doesn't mean this team will be good, or win a bunch, but TODAY - Maye would have won this game.
They just needed 1 or 2 first downs that they didn't get.
You're drinking cool-aid if you don't think Maye could do more to win this tight (and ugly) of a game than JB did.

Let's state the obvious.
The horrible call on the Polk-non-TD play was horribly overthrown. So inaccurate.
He was all alone in the back of the EZ and JB sailed it making Polk have to leave his feet to barely toe-tap.
That ALONE is a throw Maye makes. That wins the game.

There is a high probability he will toss many picks and get stripped sack more than Brissett until he knows what he is doing.
He will be more exciting to watch but good chance they lose each game by more points than they would with JB

15 points allowed. You should win those games 8/10. I’d take that every week. I take more issue with Brissett having a hand in face face before he good even set his feet. I take more issue with the dump passes over and over again.

Enough with this. They gave offers to players for more money than other teams and they got turned down. You don't massively overpay, thats just bad business so you are left with this. So, whom would you have massively overpaid for or held hostage until they signed a contract? They've had one free agency, one draft. Oh and all those LT or offensive lineman that are FA? Huh everyone else in the league with crap lines isn't signing them either.

You don't wave a magic wand and fix your team overnight. Might work in the NBA or MLB, but it doesn't in the NFL.

Dude, wtf are you talking about? Maybe more so than any other professional sport (sans a Celtics Big 3 or a LeBron/Wade/Bosh situation), NFL teams can turn it around “overnight.”

Football is 80% about the QB, and a good QB turns things around quickly.

I seem to remember there was a team in 2001, coming off a bad season the year before, who started 2001 off 0-2 and then had a change at QB and won the Super Bowl.

Heck, look at Washington this year. One of the worst teams in the league magically turned into an elite team because of an upgrade at QB.

Jacoby threw it a little deeper today, but those opportunities have been there quite awhile and he was just unwilling to take them. I'm convinced most qbs in the league would've won this game for us today. You can't win many games if you are consistently scoring less than 20 points. I was at least entertained this game but I'm still done with Brisset.

With the way the game was going, I suspect we would have still lost even if that late td had stood. It felt like we had no interest in beating the Dolphins.

If they wanted to secure the top pick, they should have kept Mac. They would have saved the money they're paying Jacoby, which seems like Kraft's priority.
