No. Happened plenty and more than you think. Becuase bill wasn't as transparent as mayo is. This is the reason why. However last 2 seasons was plenty of this. After the giants loss the we ass comments, after the Washington loss.. players on D saying guess we gotta hold them to 0 points... after the Chargers game guys saying you can't win in this league if you can't score.. when you lose you hear all this stuff..
THis is about players not following the game plan. You're on about talking to the media.

Not really.

Discipline and playing in structure with good fundamentals was one of the biggest trait of the defense under Bill. It’s seems to have gone down the drain under Mayo and Covington
No it did. See my post to Triumph. It did and I refuse to believe otherwise. Yes I agree bill had great discipline but we cannot act like it's never happened.

2009 bill saying I can't get this team to play the way I need them.
Adelius Thomas, Sean springs, randy, Derek burgess those guys spoke out.

Last few seasons various players spoke out.

They are losing.. that is why.. they are a bottom roster the worst team in the NFL. The worst starting QB In the NFL.. they lost under Bill and will continue to loose under mayo until Drake can take over and show why he's the 2rd overall pick.

No it's about injured, incompetent team with a bottom roster. I can't make excuses anymore. I'm calling it how I see it.

I'm referring to free lancing. Looking out for # 1 padding my stats.

The verbal comments are a mouse compared to the bigger problem of players ignoring the gameplan.

Oh yeah I get it. Your right on that.

Mayo's in a conundrum.. 1st time HC trying to follow the " plan".. doesn't look like much of a plan to me.

his lack of experience as a coach is starting to show... While he may be a great coach, I do not think he was ready to take over a team... he is allowing others to control the narrative surrounding the team... While it maybe he is in control behind the scenes, it doesn't look that way from the outside... too many voices saying different things... and that slight bit of chaos is showing on the field, manifesting in sloppy play, a lack of attention to detail and now add "freelancing" to the list.

Its fine being a players coach, or coming off as one, as long as the team is focused and heading in one direction... and there is seemingly a lack of focus with this team... maybe that's just perception on my part... its like he's one step behind, and has been since camp... It started with Judon on that fateful day in training camp... that set the perception that hes reactive vs proactive and I've seen nothing since then that dissuades me from that opinion...

That may seem to be a very negative take on Mayo... But its early still, and have hope that things will work out as he builds the team he wants around him, instead of playing out the string with the left overs from the past regime while their contracts eventually expire.

I believe he's in the middle.. he's been part of the organization and seen football excellence from coaching and from the QB position. I think that's a fair take not negative at all you said. He knows Jacoby isn't a good QB and is one of the main reasons not the only that the teams offense can't get going. It seems like Mayo's growing frustrated with media reports, the team looking the way it does and also feeling like he needs to consult his staff on every decision he makes.

Mayo should take a deep breath and embrace this.. because this can only allow him to become a better coach as time goes along.. adversity is what all first time HCs go through. The teams just losing and guys are frustrated.

No experienced coach was going to come here under the terms mayo agreed too.
Nobody knows that.

Nobody knows if Vrabel was offered the job.

He does have a plan. Sit Maye. Let Jacoby take a licking out there. Build the O-line next off-season. It's not an amazing plan but that's pretty much the only plan BB's mismanagement of the team the last half decade left him with.

Pats had cap space and still have some. Much of it was spent on players who were already here. Few of them are playing up to their contracts. Brisket and this weak OL are not a fit for the kind of developing passing attack AVP is trying to develop.

Let’s face it. It’s the perfect storm. Injuries, a weak roster and rookie coaches have all contributed. That’s on Mayo and Wolf. The time to fix it is now.

Incompetence starts at the top.

It was a huge miss to not hire Vrabel.
But Kraft had already promised Mayo the job. You may be right. Be in this era of PR and the Rooney Rule, could Kraft deal with all the bad press? Even talk of racism?

No way.

But if Mayo doesn’t field a competitive team most weeks, I know you’re right.

Uche sucks, thankfully they didn’t extend him.
I argued that when we drafted him. In the second round!

He was a situational third down pass rusher whom DC Don Brown then at Michigan couldn't trust to do much else. A few starts only his senior season. Barely saw the field is senior season against Penn State's pro style offensive scheme.

Bill the GM killed off his dream of Bill the HC surpassing Shula.

Shula will continue to reign supreme because Kraft never took away Bill’s control of the draft like he did Parcells’.

Who knows... the job was already Mayo's so they still had to satisfy the NFL policy and interview.

Kick the can is the big plan?

It took 3 SB wins to get it.

Who hired Wolf?

I know who hired Groh.

The plan appears to be wait until next year. No clue what then but I don't see anything they did or are doing to help this year.
