Godchaux - "Guys being kind of Selfish" - so... Who's Freelancing

Can you point to a single instance of a player going to the media to complain about free lancing?
Thank you for asking.

Last season Godchaux saying it's embarrassing saying guess we have told hold teams to 0 points becuase we can't score seem like guys are making business decisions.

There has been plenty of dysfunction under Bill in years past. We won! That's what kept everything afloat. We aren't winning and haven't been for a while now. Therefore the products so bad and guys are frustrated.

Becuase we were promised a better product even in yet another rebuild. We've been rebuilding for 5 seasons. I'd never thought I loose complete faith in an organization that's been the class of the NFL for so long.

Pats had cap space and still have some. Much of it was spent on players who were already here. Few of them are playing up to their contracts. Brisket and this weak OL are not a fit for the kind of developing passing attack AVP is trying to develop.

Let’s face it. It’s the perfect storm. Injuries, a weak roster and rookie coaches have all contributed. That’s on Mayo and Wolf. The time to fix it is now.
Except they apparently decided the time to fix it is next year

My question was about free lancing. But those are some good examples of frustration boiling over. We are 4 weeks in and we are already boiling again this is not good. The schedule gets easier for the next few weeks so we better get some wins to simmer this down or we are screwed.

Agreed. I think the free lancing bit was goddy talking about assignments.. I listened to the interview in it's entirety. The thing is we are combination of a Incomplete tream, that has the 3rd overall pick, with injuries to key guys on offense and defense. Terrible QB play.. go figure if the QB play was going to be this bad should have given the 8 million Brissett is getting to a real LT and just kept Zapp around.

It’s going to be such a glorious day when that snake Mayo gets fired. This team is in free-fall, and I think we are staring at perhaps a historically bad season.

The players are beyond miserable and Mayo the Snake is in WAY over his head.

It’ll never happen, but maybe Thunder is realizing he should have never backed himself against the wall by appointing Mayo the Snake as “head coach-in-waiting” and cuts bait after one season. I’m sure Wolfe wants his own coach in there anyways. One could only hope.

Also, anyone find it funny there hasn’t been any insider leaks this season? I mean we had a QB-competition that we didn’t know the winner of until Mayo announced it; we have no idea when Maye is going to play; we have numerous players clearly frustrated from Judon to Douglas to Godchaux and yet we haven’t any leaks about the state of the locker room.

This stands in stark contrast to the last couple of years when there was leak after leak after leak. Hmmm, it really makes you think about who had the most to gain from leaking these tidbits to the media and why it isn’t happening now. Hmmmmm

He does have a plan. Sit Maye. Let Jacoby take a licking out there. Build the O-line next off-season. It's not an amazing plan but that's pretty much the only plan BB's mismanagement of the team the last half decade left him with.
Bill said himself he doesn't know what the plan is. Wasn't that pretty much his own plan last few seasons.

It’s amazing how nobody can see how Mayo is similar to Jim Tomsula.

Both were loved by Ownership and one was accused of going around the HC and trying to talk Ownership into firing the HC so he could take over.

The leaks in 2023 scream Mayo.

Agreed. It's not a typical set up to say the least. For example look at shanny in SF he pretty has say on the roster. What I honestly believe is that ownership feels like they don't want to give one person so much power like they did for so long. So Mayo's the face of the team they know he's very good with the media and likable. However Mayo's still a product of Bill and was raised in the system. You cannot win in this league without the QB it's impossible.
Shanahan doesn’t have final say on the roster, Lynch does. They collaborate well.

This is why I was sour on Mayo from day one. Winners don’t operate like that.

Trent Brown (lol) was the only publicly malcontent I remember last season. And maybe Bourne at one point?

wins? I'd settle for competitive football at this point.

While I do not believe we are even close to having the most talented roster in the NFL, we should be more competitive than we have been over the past two weeks... Maybe that is just based on my expectations, but i doubt it... They were kind of low going into the season (2-15, maybe we eek out a 3rd win) but I did not expect us to be playing like we have been... seattle level is what I expected... the last two weeks, we've fallen off a cliff

Any other coach hired would have endured the same exact things as mayo.. becuase you and few others here don't like mayo does not mean he won't be a good coach. The coach of your choice as well as rainmaker.. would still have to be willing to a collaboration, and Wolf has final say on the roster. It still wouldn't change the reality of the team.

The other major evidence was when Curran confirmed Mayo the HC way before it happened. Who’s the mole leaking all this info?

I thought at this teams capacity they could at least be what they were in Seattle game.. although not perfect they were at least competitive and the score was close. It's just such a bad combination of injuries, poor play, guys on defense having to play out of position and overcompensating and doing more than what thier skills set is. It's such a bummer I really felt like I could at least watch enjoyable compe football this year.

I just don’t like how it went down.
