I getting that the team has no talent, but they are not even trying to win games. That is the part that bugs me. I don't care if they lose, but they should at least coach the game like a ****ty team trying to win games instead of a good team that thinks they can score points at will.
Let me ask this? Does AVP last beyond this season. I really started to think of this? With the Browns still being on the hook for his salary this season...

Dabol likely will be available as an OC. Former coach here.. I believe dabol is a QB savant he could be excellent for Drake.

What scares (and confuses me) more is how we've gone from the No 1 franchise in the NFL to a team who are scared to play someone in case they get hurt. Yes, we all expected a drop off but this has been more than a "drop off"....and don't get me started on rebuilds. We've been rebuilding since before Covid and we're worse, not better. Something fundamentally rotten at the core of our team.
Like anything else, there isn't one factor that led to where they are now. BB's bad drafting going back to even before Brady left left the team devoid of top level talent. His reluctance to go and find new, young, innovative coaches outside the organization when a bunch of his young coaches left created brain drain (not to mention the complete mishandling of Caley). This lack of talent plus substandard coaching mostly on the offensive side of the ball led to the ruining of a promising QB (granted that didn't have a high ceiling but one that could succeed in the right situation) which set the franchise back at the most important position in the sport. Now you have a rookie head coach and a new offensive system being put in place (the fourth one in as many years) and they had to use their top pick to grab a QB since the 2025 QB draft class isn't as good as the one this year leaving them without a LT (although, they should have taken one in the second round even if they had to move up to get one but every team makes mistakes). That's not even taking into account injuries and things like that you can't plan for.

That's why they are where they are right now. It's a combination of things but most of it goes back to not having good drafts over a long period of time and not developing the young coaches and players on the team.

Idk, but does it make sense to ask the first year qb to learn a new system after 1 year?

Is AVP the real problem? Could he be better? Yes. But is he the reason they suck so much? Idk. OL talent is a real problem

How so? What should they be doing differently?

From what I've heard the offense AVP runs is transferable.. it's basically Mcadoo and TC McCartneys offense as well. Not saying I personally want AVP out.. but if it continues to be this way and nothing improves.. Ownership may interject.. yeah OL absolutely is abysmal.. there weren't a train wreck yesterday but when you have no QB it doesn't help.

What's Ryan Mallet up to these days?

I don't care how we got here. The current regime doesn't make me optimistic. Drafting the QB made sense. Drafting a WR over a tackle, didn't make sense. Bringing in Jacoby didn't make sense. Not starting Drake Maye next week will not make sense. Maybe next year will be great, I don't care. I want to TRY to win games, and we are not trying.

Not my job to spoon feed low information fans.
No you are a liar. You make **** up then when you are called out you say it’s not your job to prove the thing you made to. The patriots were 10 1/2 point underdogs. There is zero chance in the world that you saw people on an nfl show “ predicted the Pats winning this game was money in the bank.”
I call your bs and we both know it’s bs and you can’t back it up

Given that this owner, organization, and fanbase ran a six-time Super Bowl-winning coach out-of-town after just one single shot at drafting a QB (far and away the most important position in sports), the last thing I want to hear from anyone is about “loyalty.”
Bill's firing was one he earned all by himself. Had nothing to do with the owner, organization and fans.

The complete lack of talent on the Pats is obvious. Missing on three straight first round picks really hurts (Harry, Strange, Jones). Gonzales looks that he might be a decent player. The Maye pick was just bad. First off, I'm not sure he is even an NFL QB. Secondly, we will never know because you can't put him behind this offensive line. This whole year is a waste.

They obviously should have traded #4 and stockpiled picks and talent. Whoever made the Maye decision should be sacked, as our British cousins would say. BTW Judon was a beast yesterday. Trading away your best player for what looks like now a late third round pick, is never a good idea. The only thing you can't blame them for is Barmore, no one could have foreseen that issue.

Now losing Andrews for any length of time would be a death kneel. He was the only starting caliber lineman they have. Plus the center makes all the protection calls.

Daboll doesn’t look very savant like with Daniel Jones. The only success he has ever had as a coordinator was when he hit Josh Allen. And the first 2 years there were bad too.

Not sure if this post is sarcasm or what. Gonzales looks to be decent? He’s played 7 games in the NFL and already looks to be one of the best corners in football.

Maye doesn’t belong in the NFL?

Agreed. I don't want Daboll here.

They beat 3 teams.

1 was a team we did in fact beat.

1 is the Giants who are a bottomfeeder team that we would have a shot against.

The last is a 1-3 Cardinals team who haven't looked so hot.

The Niners who we just lost to are much better than any team Washington beat. Seattle is one of the few undefeafted teams in the league and looks better than anyone Washington beat. That leaves the Jets who are very up and down but have a ton of talent and an elite QB when he is on.

Context matters. We could be having a very different discussion if you flipped schedules.
We lost to a better team than you beat is not the hammer you think it is.

The only thing Im trully disappointed by is how SLOW Brisset is.

I thought he would be a decent runner, but jesus, guy is slower than a tow truck. He's like Brady, without the QB-ing ability.

Still, holding out for SOME Oline stability (not even quality, just stoping revolving door that injuries are inflicting on us) before thrusting Maye is my preference.

We drafted a guy but we are actually never gonna play him because we are too scared for him to actually play football. Seriously what are we doing ?

So next year if the line is injured again, are you benching him in season because you are too scared he’ll get injured too?
No you play him after the bye and starting next year because there is a monster difference between a 21 year old kid making the jump from a smaller college starting week 1 with all the pressure and expectations of being THE man while lasting a full 25% longer season taking vicious hits against bigger, stronger, faster athletes versus giving that same kid 3 months to figure out NFL speed in practice, showing him how to study and prepare at an NFL level behind a Vet QB, and giving him unpressured time to work on footwork and other deficiencies in his game. I do think he should get his feet wet this year but throwing him into the deep end behind an offensive, offensive line is a good way to ruin his career before it starts.

Im willing to be patient and give Drake Maye the best chance to reach his full top 20 QB of all time potential and history is pretty clear sitting at least part of your rookie year is the best way to do that. Yeah Brisket sucks, losing with him isnt fun, but i am grateful for him taking the hits that might otherwise Derail a bright future. Getting hit is part of any Qbs job and eventually Maye is going get plastered too but i want him to have seen NFL speed in practice for 3 months and be comfortable with the offense before he does.
