Bedard warned in the preseason that he was concerned about Brissett's processing speed on plays. Unfortunately he was right. Brissett is not a guy you want behind a disaster of an o-line. He didn't have time for even a fast processing QB on a lot of plays, but he did on others and missed a lot of wide open receivers. I am wondering if the Pats would have been better off getting a guy like Tannehill over Brissett. Tannehill ain't great either, but he isn't as bad as Brissett in this situation.
All that said, I still am against rushing Maye into the starting line up. If the o-line is as bad as it was today, there is little benefit to him being out there and he is as much as a risk of regressing as learning in a situation like this.
That's a point I've been mulling over - was one of the bigger miscalculations of this offseason going with Brissett?
Not sure if we explored others, could be the issue of nobody wanting to come here, as well.
