Raise your hand if you thing this is the rest of the NFL's chance to stick it to the Krafts by not allowing them to fulfill the Rooney Rule. If they cannot get two outside candidates to interview, then what?

Then that’s not on them, they can’t force people to interview for the position.

They have 2, so they have what is needed,

Think that matters?

What a farce!

There's no requirement (as far as I am aware of) on the qualifications of the candidates, so worst-case scenario they would just go find any random bozo that fits the requirements in the public outside football.

They should do what I do when I need to get people to help me move and offer free pizza.

I would interview 2 women ... satisfies Rooney Rule.
That would give them a better profile moving forward.

Susan Tose Spencer became the first and only female general manager in NFL history when she was hired by the Philadelphia Eagles in 1983.[15] Raîche interviewed for the Minnesota Vikings' general manager position in January 2022, becoming the first woman to interview for an NFL general manager position.[16][17] In June 2022, Raîche was selected by the Cleveland Browns to become the team's vice-president of football operations and assistant general manager.[18]

Going to go out on a limb and say Mr. Suleiman is a person of color. If Brandon Hunt is as well, then they would have now "checked the box" for the Rooney Rule. If Brandon Hunt is not, then one more interview will be needed.

Wrong! I broke out a color fan deck to gauge this and he came in at an off white called Swiss Coffee. And to pass the Rooney rule you have to at least be on the spectrum of a Door Mouse brown, with just a hint of grey in it.

Or interview two “potential GM hires” and, if you like one or both, hire them for another position.

Wolf does a DNA test and miraculously finds out that he is a descendant of Shaka Zulu.

I've always wondered about that too.... like, interview the guy in the parking lot who takes my money to park.....

Well, they have to be an external candidate, so they couldn't interview the deflator.

Right. Requirements are "can't be employed by the Patriots" and "can't simultaneously be white and a man". So basically, call up and interview any woman in the world who is not a Patriots employee, or any man in the world who is any type of minority and is not a Patriots employee, and they're eligible.
