LMAO this goofball @archstanton543 still defending Mac's name

So what don't you agree with? That Maye isn't gonna be a better QB than Mac? That our receivers will look better with Maye throwing them the ball?

That our receivers are terrible and they're not going to look good no matter who's throwing them the ball.

Why don't you go become a Jags fan if you love Mac so much?

Because I'm a Patriots fan.

You just said our receivers are terrible and they're never gonna look good (implies because Mac isn't here?)

What has Mac done to earn your loyalty like this?

I agree with most of that. Why do people get upset if I point out we drafted two 4.5 sec 40 guys? We did. It is the truth. Your list proves the point, BTW. The guys you listed are not known for taking the top off the defense. Remember watching Edelman trying to get deep once in awhile? Clearly not Edelman's strength and he is faster than Polk or Baker. Harkening back to J Rice is not a comparison that is equivalent, the game has changed, it is a lot faster. I like Polk, but I worry Baker is a head case.

Maye to Thornton might be fun to watch. We have a 4.3 guy. Let's hope Thornton can do more than run straight. Maybe someone other than T Brown can get through to Thornton. I don't think anyone will play Cover 2 to defend Thornton, so he has his opportunity now.
I’m not upset. But you seem to buy into the narrative that it’s imperative that offenses have that 4.3 guy to be successful in the league when that’s just not the case. It’s all about the QB and supporting cast first. Devery Henderson could take the top off but he wasn’t anything special at the end of the day. Maybe it helped his receivers get open, I don’t know? I’ll worry about that later after I’ve seen what these two can do.

They were terrible when Mac was here. They're still going to be bad with Brissett. They're going to get good when the bad WR's leave the team and good ones are drafted/signed.

Mac's gone you can stop the hate. Change your avatar too.

I am not buying into the narratve that Polk and Baker are #1s, that is all. Nothing else.

You don't seem to get the concept that WRs production is strictly tied to how good the QB is.

I will make fun of Mac even more now that he's no longer a Patriot.

JE's 40 time was 4.52. In other words, exactly the same as Polk and 2 one-hundredths of a second faster than Baker. Jerry Rice was 4.71. I suspect he 'took the top' off of more than one defense.

You must be an oldie to remember that guy.

Of course it will. Assuming Maye is a better QB than Mac, all of our receivers will look better.
Problem with Twiggy isn’t who is throwing, it’s who is catching. Or trying to catch.

He has not shown ability to catch, or really do anything but run fast in a straight line. He’s a one trick pony, and that trick is running fast. Not enough to make it in the NFL.

Face it, there were receivers even TB12 could not make look good.

Jerry Rice was a WR in a different era of football. The game is much faster today. Not equivalent, but you already know that.

Copper Kupp would be a better comparison. Copper will never be confused with a fast X reciever. I think Polk and Baker will be good recievers. We can see if Thornton works out, then draft a X receiver if we need one.

Henry looked like a decent TE before playing with Mac but Mac made him look like he didn't belong. But Mac wasn't the problem.

Nelson Agholar sucked here.
He looks like a really good number 2 in B more.

The Pats have a lot of cash but Juju's contract is still too heavy to move on from, unfortunately.
Hopefully there is a behavior clause that could negate the contract.

I don’t want to cheer for this guy.

If ever Tyquan is going to be motivated to become a real NFL player it will be now with two young guys coming for his spot.

Might just be his brain though.
I would like to see what Thornton and Boutte could do with one more camp.
