Bill O'Brien Gone: new OC at Ohio State

Zac Robinson makes the most sense.. 5 years under McVay .

Anybody else from Shanahan tree who is a qb coach in some other team.

Ryan Day is turning over playcalling to BoB
The move comes with a potential shift within the OSU program, as coach Ryan Day has spent part of this offseason exploring bringing in an experienced coordinator who would allow him to give up playcalling duties, according to sources.

Here is some OSU football coach salary info from last year.
Defensive Coordinator and Linebackers Jim Knowles: Two years remaining — $1,957,000

Offensive Coordinator and Receivers Coach Brian Hartline: Three-Year Term — $1,600,000

They rarely give us any NFL coach pay info.

O'Brien was a Belichick hire. It could either Mayo wants to have his own guys or O'Brien left because either he doesn't want to be part of a rebuild or for some sense of loyalty to Belichick.

I like O'Brien, but let's hope his leaving means they are going to bring someone in who will modernize the offense.
Probably don't want a guy who has been a head coach before and vying to be one again on the staff in your first year as HC.

If true, the move to OSU is a great spot for BOB. Day is very unpopular out here in Ohio and he may not even last out the 2024 season. With his work at Penn State, BOB has proven he can be a solid college coach. Just hope Mayo doesn't name McD as his OC. Zac Robinson would be a good choice along with someone to be a QB whisperer for the expected new QB.

If true I don't blame Mayo. BoB's nothing special.
I am good with whatever the Head Coach wants for now. 4-13 sucks, Rod Rust Era offense. I am reticent to say that it can't get worse, because that's when someone says "hold my beer" and it gets worse. For now, I am going to rely on him getting the right people. If he wants fresh minds in all three phases, great.

Please someone tell me I am delusional, is it possible that Troy Brown being OC at the senior bowl is an audition for our OC position?

Agreed when your last in every phase of what matter in offense, I didn't see BOB remaining there were rumblings of him returning.. to the NCAA going back to November.

I don't want any new patriots coach that still has the arrogance. josh, matty p, judge, BoB, are all technically competent but seem to be terrible people persons. Need to clean that aspect up.
I’ll stick up for Bill O’Brien. I’ve heard some really great things about him as a person. He’s not a terrible guy, just had a rough season here.

I think he's part of that old guard and it looks like Coach Mayo (that's weird) might be bringing in fresh, young blood. I am good with it.

Your right, it's the right way to go. We need some innovation on offense, I too am good with it. I want to see excitement, big plays, not these boring 4 yard passes and drives to no where.

It's something new and he's worked under Shanny.
whoever gets hired I hope they give him the time necessary to do their thing

I have nothing against Welker, I just don’t believe he’s ready to be an OC.

Oh as a person A plus guy they say. He's a native son of Massachusetts as well of course. I loved his fire his passion, but like having cereal with no milk.. without a QB it's not possible for an offense to function.

Settle down.
4+4+4= first down. I don't need a fancy, flashy, finesse offense. Just a winning one.

No. Get that out your head. Brady,Bill aren't here! Think bigger. You WANT an explosive offense. Did you like seeing 4,4,4 last season except 3 and out?.. no need to keep running that prehistoric offense.. need an offense that can get 8,9 yards on first down.
