why would conference record be ahead of head to head? That makes no sense to me. Common opponents makes sense, but conference record when you play in different conferences? Beyond dumb.
Its strength of schedule. Washington’s opponents have played more total games than NE’s opponents so their SOS comes out .0001 lower if you do the math. Once all the games are done this week they’ll have an equal number of games and their SOS either will no longer be equal, or if it is, NE will be higher due to the head to head.

I can't wrap my mind around the logic that a team would trade a draft choice for Belichick.

So many factors working against this.

ONE: Kraft wants to fire him. So the team lets Kraft fire him.
TWO: The new team that signs him can sign him to short money as Kraft has to pay him his total contract for the year.
THREE: Belichick doesn't want to deprive the new team of a player/draft pick, so what's in it for him?

There is no incentive to the new team nor to Belichick to have such a trade consummated.

What's the logic?

Are people actually thinking they'll lose to the Jete next week? That's definitely not going to happen.

We’ve won what 15 straight against these guys? History says pats are winning next week.

The only hope is that the jets players are tired of losing to us and wanna snap the streak and their defense not only stops us (likely) but also scores points themselves. I have no faith in the jets offense to do much.

Bills's still under contract for another year. He can't go to another team unless Kraft approves. Bill's not the only one who can play hardball. .

TWO: it’s negotiable.

THREE: when does BB give a rat’s arse about draft picks?

I thought Kraft is firing him.

If Kraft wants to keep him, Bill will say, "Fine!"

What is going on here? Where's the logic?

What are you even talking about?

If Belichick isn't getting fired, then what are we even discussing here.

I think basic logic has left people.

If I'm wrong on one (and I hope I'm wrong) then the whole discussion is moot.

As bad as Zappe was, I'm glad he wasn't pulled. He managed to wake up and we actually had a chance. As implausible as it seemed, we would've been tied if our special teams could get their act together. This game made me like Zappe even more than I already do. We all know this offense is trash and missing players etc but Zappe just kept playing. He hit rock bottom and still showed grit.

I was annoyed Parker wasn't available for most of the game. I like Parker more than most but he and JuJu get paid to do nothing most of the time.

Our last possession annoyed me the most. I know we were backed up against our endzone but we are out of the playoffs and still played conservatively. Also, why not run Harris who had a little more success?

I was talking about the post-game until the speculative derail.

We have NO IDEA if BB is done here, unless he’s charged for killing FCB’s dog.

At #2, they might be able to trade back AND get the QB they want assuming it isn’t Williams or Maye. Just more options.

I wouldn't try to get too cute. If our guy is there just take him. Other teams can always trade up and snatch our target. I'd rather draft a guy a few spots "too early" than have our franchise QB (in waiting) snatched away because we wanted to get an extra 3rd or something.

Unless we zero in on some guy like Nix or Ewers or someone not getting any buzz. That has a next to zero chance of going top ten.

If BB isn't done here, then of course he won't be coaching another team

James White (I assume he means "sight adjust")

Let’s be real though Jones would have been roasted for this even if it wasn’t all on the QB.

Kraft can't technically fire him as he's still under contract. Best case, they can negotiate a departure that includes Bill moving to another team that takes part of his salary. Worst case, Kraft eats the entire salary and keeps Bill unemployed for 2024. And what would be the appetite in 2025 for a 73 year old coach who had sat out a year after a 3/4 win season in 2023?

The Patriots control the clock. Basically, the Pats have the same leverage the Jets had in 2000. With an acceptable (to them) successor in house, the Pats can just slow walk Bill’s dismissal until an interested team has no choice but to move on to their 2nd option or pay compensation to the Pats to hire Belichick,

I don’t think it comes to this. Neither the Krafts or Bill want his departure to be classified as a “firing”. And, at 72, Bill doesn’t want to take a season off in his quest to pass Shula. I expect Bill to resign next week after receiving an understanding from the Krafts RE: his 2024 salary and compensation. Ownership is not getting back what they gave up for Bill 24 years ago. But, a 2nd or 3rd wouldn’t hurt the rebuilding process.

One more game until sweet release.
