Even if Mac is being forced on him, he cannot tank the season to prove he is right on Mac. If that is why this team is in the position to prove a point, Kraft should fire him next week if they lose in Germany going into the bye.

Congratulations Bill, you are right. Mac can't play. Here's your pink slip. You helped out Jerod because next year as head coach of the Patriots, he will have a new starting QB.

If this was Belichick's plan, he is an idiot. Kraft put his reputation on the line defending Mac. This season is a disaster. You really think Kraft will be willing to say "Bill, you were right. You made me look like a fool. You made a point at the expense of my multi-billion football team. Point taken. Now let's talk about giving you an extension"?

If Mac is being forced on Bill like you said by Kraft, it would be logical to assume Kraft would do the same to the new HC if Bill were to get fired.

Mac has played his cards right, become close to Kraft and get in his ear.

Unfortunately, even at full strength, this team's ceiling was a borderline playoff team that can beat the bad teams and not the good teams (despite the win against the Bills). After week one, this team didn't look like it was any better than it was last year even with Judon and Gonzalez. They looked like they took a step back.

If that was the case, I still think Belichick should be fired. This team was not moving towards becoming a contender again and it wasn't all because of the QB. No one on offense was playing well. The defense was not tackling well at close to full strength.
I agree that tackling has severely declined. Very frustrating development this year.

Corky Mac needs to be fired.

Sam Howell is not playing with Superstars other than McLaurin and he looked damn sharp more often than not.

Where do we stand in the draft?

Picking fifth, but one win away from picking tenth.

Arizona has the first pick, the the Bears have the next 2, the the Giants.

You don't fix it.

You replace it. That's the problem that people need to get their heads around right now. It's very likely that between three and zero players currently on the roster will at all have any place in the path forward that hopefully leads to us being competive
Complete overreaction. There are a lot of good young players on this team.

Kraft next year may not be as keen with sticking with Mac as he was after the Patricia disaster last year especially if the Patriots are in position to draft one of the top QBs in the draft. The Pats may stick with Mac in that situation, but as bridge to the new QB.

Every year is different and the situations are different. Last offseason, he probably felt that Patricia ruined Mac in 2022 and Mac deserved a shot to prove himself with a real OC. And next year even if he feels Mac has never been given a fair shot this year, he might not be as confident in Mac as a long term solution.

The Bears are gonna be sitting pretty. 2nd and 3rd pick plus whatever they get back from trading Justin Fields away? Imagine if they let a different QB-needy team trade up to 3 behind them, they'll get a haul for that too. Plus #1 in cap space I believe.

There's no fixin' this, baby!

Just ride it out .. we might get some exciting W's that ultimately lead to nothing. That's what it's all about though Treat every game like the SB, bc you honestly dont know when we will be in position to win going forward this season.

They will swap their second for our fourth.
And we will pry have to cough up a second or third for them to move down 2 spots.

jahan Dotson is better than any receiver on the Pats...not that that's saying much

The fact Belichick has put me in a position where I'm actively rooting for losses is enough of a reason for me to want him gone.

Really the only rationale i had for keeping bb is that the team at least has been in full control of its destiny until the final week the last couple of years since it can gef alot.,right now not sure if theres much room to get worse.,

It'll be more than that, it'll cost a future 1st at least. But who knows how the actual draft placements ultimately shake out.
